Hello everyone! My name is Deric, from south Louisiana. I just sold my Toyota Tundra and bought this GE8 in September. I've been working on getting it caught up on maintenance and getting a few worn things replaced.
I do most of my own work because I was a Honda technician for 10 years from 2007-2017. I’ve referenced this forum a few times lately so I decided to go ahead and join, looking forward to offering help where I can.
My latest issue is a rear floorboard full of water, I had to drive thru some pretty deep water to get to work this morning, so I’m not sure if it got in thru the door, or leaked in overnight during the storm from behind the panel. Gotta love NOLA street flooding!
Heyo! Native Louisianian and a tech as well but relocated to Texas.
@DericSh Take off the roof moldings and give the entire run channel where the pillar and roof skin gets spot welded a good look. The seam sealer is notorious to break down there and allow water intrusion there as well as at opening of the hatch.

Nice!!
Thanks for the tip! I actually saw a video about that earlier today. I was going to start with checking the plastic vapor barrier behind both rear door panels, I remember having to fix a few of those back in the day. There’s also a lengthy thread about it here.
The roof/hatch seams will be my second place to check if it happens again. I’ve got a heck of a clean up job ahead of me from what I saw when I pulled up a little of the carpet last night.
