Fit

I just test drove a Fit tonight - have been surfing the web and getting info for a few weeks. Local dealership can't keep them on the lot so was very happy to see one sitting there last night. I called and made arrangements to do a test drive. It is the Fit Sport which I was very impressed with. However I was really interested in the basic model without all the bells and whistles. The salesman told me that the pricing was about the same and that he could get the Sport a lot easier than the base unit.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen when you were car shopping. It is funny that on the Honda Fit web site list the base unit for $14,600.00 yet the dealership seems to list the base unit with auto trans as being just about the same cost as the Sport.

This I don't understand any comments or suggestions?

Thanks,
Cat

Welcome to the world of car dealerships.

They are just trying to sell you into a higher product. Tell them you want MSRP. If they refuse, it's time to seek another dealer.

in USA, dealers are allowedto sell ABOVE MSRP. In Canada, they are NOT allowed to. (Score 1 for canada)
