Hi new to FF

Hi FF peeps, just bought a 2013 Fit but I'm not a 1st time Honda owner (had a Civic for 11 yrs before). I just love it, had it less than a week.

Some questions though: Did anyone replace the gas cap with a locking one because the fuel door doesn't lock in the base model? How would you deal with the tether thing?

Does anyone else's cold thermostat light come on when you start up late @ night or AM? I'm down in TX and it doesn't do that when I leave work at 5pm...

I'm finding it improves the gas mileage to out the AC on recirculating mode, I haven't even gone through a full tank yet? Any truth to this?

Anyone else with Blue Raspberry paint? How does it hold up long term. Like I said I'm from South TX and the summers were not kind on the dk. red paint I had before. Reg. car wash will do fine?

Hello and welcome!

What's common for people to do, get an Element accessory locking fuel cap as a preventive. I personally have had it for the last 6 or 7 years and just set the fuel cap on the gas pump when filling then put it back on the car with done. Sure I miss the tether but eh, its a habit that I quickly adapted to.

The cold temp light just monitors engine coolant temp. If the engine hasn't been ran for a while, it will be on until a certain engine coolant temp is achieved... at which point the light goes out.

No knowledge of A/C affecting fuel mileage in fresh or recirculate... I tend to rarely use it (also in South Texas) and haven't paid attention to fuel economy for a while really.

Blue Raspberry should hold up well as all Honda's pearlescent paints do, regular washes and waxes will of course aid in this.
