2018 Fit would not start - electrical issue?

Unlocked car; sat in driver’s seat with fob on my hip per usual; placed foot on brake pedal and no give and engine start/stop button not lit up and car would not start. Tried several times. Headlights worked. Inside lights went on with opening/closing door; heard a distinct electrical “short” when first tried to start. After a few minutes at pressing the brake, pushing the button, gave up; called roadside assistance and could not get through (another story). Locked and unlocked car, got back in and tried again a few times until it finally just started. While driving to the dealership, message came on display saying system had lost power and something about anti-theft system. Left car at dealership. I’m afraid to drive the car anymore because of electrical problems? Only 2100 miles on car - what gives?! So frustrated.

There have been reports of faulty starters with the newer Fit's. Your's would be the newest to fail I believe, but it would make sense given your description.
