Seems to me that if it is in your glove box, it will be out of site.

Does it really need to be actually mounted in there?

If you get the Monster cable you also need the the stereo mini plug cable too? Monster cable goes from the bottom of i pod to the accessory plug or the "cigarette lighter"? Then where do you plug the mini plug cable?

This will give you better sound than plugging in to the top earphone jack and you won't have to crank the volume of the Ipod real high to hear it through the Fit stereo. You'll still need the $5 cable with a 1/8" stereo mini plug at each end.

I got mine at CompUSA, but they are now closed in the Houston area.
This is what I just purchased. It was from the Sik store though as I couldn't find the monster cable one, but it charges and uses uncompressed line out audio =) yipee

Ipod Monster cable

For whatever reason, the Monster cable has a jack at the bottom of the docking port plug for the line out audio along with a 12v accesory power cable that is terminated with a plug. They should have terminated the adapter with a separate audio lcable and plug, but chose to put a jack on the adapter instead. So to get the line out audio to the Fit, you still still need an audio cable with 1/8" stereo plugs on each end. One goes to the Monster docking port adapter line out jack and the other end goes to the aux input jack on the Fit.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Do you have a link to the monster cable that you used?

Here's Crutchfield's catalog listing for it:

Thanks.

I found it on Amazon and it is a bit cheaper. If you are prepared to try some of their third party vendors it can be bought for as little as $1.87 plus shipping. Here is the link:

iPod/MP3 on Jazz/Fit

Hi everyone,
Having just opted for a Honda Jazz (UK), there's just a couple of things I need cleared up. The thing is pre-2006 Jazz/Fit's don't have the aux/mp3 connector in the UK (I'm presuming it's not the same everywhere) and I've got a 2005 model.
I asked the dealer about it, he said they can't install the connection, but I would be able to find after-market solutions. So I've been fishing around for such solutions and I've looked at the DIY sticky here, which I think is what I need but I'm not confident about DIY myself unfortunately.
I've also found the Dension ICE systems appealing, but they are very expensive here, and I'm not sure if needs fitting too.

I was wondering if there are any better solutions than those two mentioned.
Thanks for any help.

Have you considered Window Vent Visors? This might prevent the splash when you open your windows. But we warned they do impeded your vision slightly once installed.

If you have the sport model, go buy a stereo mini extension cable. plug one end into the ipod, the other into the AUX jack near your 12v power outlet. 6 bucks.

if you dont have the sport model, i think there is a way to wire an AUX jack in. Do a search.

Both of these options are waaay cheaper and easier to use (from what I hear) than honda's ipod link thingie.

you know the plug that you insert into the headphone jack on your ipod? look at radioshack or something for a cord that has two of these on it, one on each end. plug one end into the ipod headphone jack, the other into the AUX jack by your cigarette lighter. remember to turn the stereo to AUX so you can hear it. you still control the tracks through the ipod.

edit: just saw your link. yes, that is exactly it.

Ipod Cable

For a few dollars more, you can get this one which allows charging and also connects the audio via the Ipod dock, so it's line out and not from the headphone jack. This gives better sound in my opinion and the Ipod volume doesn't have to be cranked way up.
