i got led tail lamps too
how can i make mine like that ?
if i just take the bulbs out will it cut out all the other lights too because their current might be connected ?

getto idea

That is a cool idea! I'm not sure if they would be in series, I'm almost sure they are in parallel, so by simply severing the ones power to the ones you want darkened, it shouldn't affect the whole array...it's kind of like those other cars out there with the burned out LED 3rd Brake Lights...there are one or two burnt out in the middle of the string of lights...

I saw an Xb with a similar light pattern on it's tail lights. I believe that something similar will eventually be release.

I'm pretty sure you can just sever the connections and leave the LED's in there...that way, if you ever want the original look back, you can just solder the wires back together...

Yup...cut it on one end...if you ever want it to look like stock, you can solder or patch it up to reconnect the power...

i think that little modification has a hard way to do it well. For me, i think you could take out the bulbs you dont want, but do not cut wires, unless you cut them, and then unite the cables with the ones you do want to light up. Painting, or even breaking them would not work, since paint could be weak, and because theyre all linked together, if one burns out or you break those bulbs you dont want to light up, the whole thing turns off, IMO

Can you just put tin foil over the ones you dont want to show?
I just got the JDM LED tails and it looks entirely doable! or just put a black cap on them (I just think the foil will look like less of a void when you look at them with out the lights on)

or just foil tape...for ducting?

Looks like a series configuration. did cutting the wires turn off individual bulbs or did the whole unit lose power?

i gave up trying as you cant take the panel out without taking the whole tailight apart and i was too eager to put it on...so never got around to do so.
