Talking Black Fog Light Covers

Hey, I want to cover the surrounds of my fog lights with something black or carbon instead of the stock silver paint. Any ideas?
I don't know why I have to do this but I am on a mission.
Should I just pull them out and paint them? I checked around to buy the oem black lights but you have to buy the whole kit. IF there was some kind of cover that attaches somehow that would be really cool.

Take them off, paint them black and get them professionally clear coated.

That or get them wrapped in CF if that's what you're looking for.

I took them off, removed the actual light housing, then sanded them down, hit it with about 3 coats of flat black, then about 3 coats of clear coat... they turned out pretty good.

Do you have to apply a clear coat to the housings ? I want my housings to just be a flat black, so wont putting a clear coat on make them glossier? Or is the clear coat strictly for scratch protection?

It does make it a bit glossy, but I wanted it for the protection. You can do them without the clear coat, but like you said they may chip or damage might show up quicker.

i think your local hobby store sells non-glossy (or at least semi-gloss)
clearcoat. just get the enamel kind. should work just fine.
