World First - iPod docking to car audio system.

I found this, it appears someone was listening to an idea I had a year ago about how to place an iPod in a car head unit. It seemed so easy to me, now someone has done it and exactly as I had envisioned. I know I am buying one, once it hits Canada:

FUSION Electronics – Car and Marine Audio

Available in the USA and elsewhere right now.

More info:

Fusion CA-IP500 Head Unit

You had a good idea, and it's nice that someone listened, but the first and second links don't load worth a damn. The third link works, but only with very sketchy info. None of this is your fault, I just wanted to let you know. Maybe the links will be improved as the product becomes more widely available. Thanks for trying to clue us in.

I checked the links twice before posting, they worked perfectly. Just double checked and again it all loads perfectly. I am a Mac snob but really any PC will be able to hit the links. Others having issues with the links?

Does it come in red backlight?

if so... I must buy it?

EDIT: wow it DOES have led control....

need to ask about if it's the display or the backlit knobs that change color...

I called a distributor on Saturday, seeking information on the unit. The shop was closed, so I will be making a call on Monday. Will post when I know more.

Cheers.

From what I read, the brand is from New Zealand. I would assume made in China would apply like any other electronic unit.

Cheers.

I guess my question is why. Seems like it would be safer in the glove box. If it gets stuck, like a CD then you would have to send your cd player in for repair along with your Ipod. Does it bypass the inter DAC of the iPod, or is it still using the internals of the iPod. Also I thought Fusion was some of the lower quality stuff in the audio world. They have the bright neon green stuff that I see for sale at the discount audio stores.
