Eclipse AVN6620 any good?
Eclipse AVN6620 any good?
It is down to $599 on crutchfield.com a savings of $500. Either it's really shitty, or a really good deal. I want a Pioneer F90 but $1,000+ is ridiculous. It looks decent enough. A slot for a map disc and a slot for cd/dvd. I never have been a fan of motorized head units, but I'm thinking of settling for this. It comes with a $100 Bluetooth adapter. Should I do it?

I was just eyeing that puppy last night! It's got the same features as the big dogs:
6 channel output
5V preamp outs
7 band EQ
24bit DA converter
3 year warranty is a cut above as well
Negatives are there are is NO USB, memory card, or aux input (only AV input), and the GUI (menus/button style/GPS) looks to be a bit dated. Also RMS output is only 15w!
Check and be sure the iPod integration functions with this unit before you buy, but as long as you only use an iPod or MP3 CD's, it looks to be an excellent value! I personally love having as many inputs as possible, and an interface that is cutting edge with cusomizable buttons, backgrounds, menus etc. but again that is edging into $1k + territory.
In summary, for the price you are getting a name brand offering specs similar to those much more expensive. Great value at this price.

yeah the GPS doesn't look as sweet as some of the newer units, and they are sold out of the Eclipse ipod adapter. Dunno if they will get more in. I think I'll just wait. It might even get cheaper, and it's kinda becoming like the Pioneer D3 from last year when everyone was buying them because they went down to $500 just like this unit.
