Cool, I'll be glad when I finish calibrating mine so the MPG and DTE will be correct.

You'll like it, just remember that it needs to be calibrated to your vehicle for the MPG, DTE, and stuff to be accurate. It's no big deal and it's easy to do. While you're waiting for it to arrive you may want to get the manual in PDF from their web site http://www.scangauge.com and read up on how to both use and calibrate it so you'll be ready to play with it when it arrives.

Thnx I will read up on it. and try to take pics.

The OBDII port is right above the gas pedal.

What is the deal with Honda not including a visual Temp Gauge? I think being there serves more than what is design to do...ex: On an automatic of your serpentine belt was to go off with the temp gauge you'll know before it reaches the red mark....you might be able to save the head before craking. I guess I'll have to get a scangauge as well.

Where to add Coolant

To add coolant, look on the driverside of the radiator, almost underneath the driver side headlamp.

When I went for my airbag recall the service manager saw and asked about my Scanguage. I told him about it and said the primary reason for buying it was to get an easy to install water temperature guage (although I like all the features offered not just the temp. guage). He said that Honda has had some engine failures due to overheating. The idiot owners said that they never got a "hot light". Honda chose to go with the "idiot lights" because there are many idiots who don't know how to read a temperature guage. The light does flash as an indication that the engine is getting hot and stays on steady to indicate overheating. I recommend a Scanguage for anyone wanting an accurate and easy to install temperature indicator.

Which is the best coolant?

To answer your question, I have always used Preston Antifreeze, the green fuild and not the brown cause if you were to have a leak, you can identify it faster than if you were to use the brown fluid.

Now for the details, I recommend you read this:

I installed a temperature guage designed to monitor hard drive temperature. The install is close to factory apearance with blue backlight, set in a unused switch plate at left of steering wheel. I take the temperature from the block casting just under the head with thermal reflective tape over the sender. It works well and is still accurate in the event of coolant loss. 25years ago I destroyed a motor. A rad hose failed> the coolant dumped> the motor baked. Cold air over the thermostat housing kept the guage sender bang on normal as I wondered why my heater had gone cold and the cylinders melted. The scanguage looks like the cat's meow and I believe I will buy on. A lot of useful info, resources, and a code resetter for 179 dollars! Still, IF you want to accurately know the real story, sometimes you have to do it yourself. I am now assembling a properly engineered thermometer system with multiple sensors, LED digital display, bargraph and flashing warning for over temperature.
