Newb mistake

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the Pioneer avix-x920BT navigation unit along with the Scosche dash kit.

Got the dash kit in the mail and wanted to see the fit before I buy and install it in my car and WTF...It does not fit?

Can someone offer me some tips or did I just make a major mistake in purchasing the navigation unit (only bought it bc it was a really good deal) or is this the correct fit?

THANKS!

I actually prefer the sunken in look over flush. Thats why i chose the scosche over the Metra for mine.

^^agreed with Chris. I think it looks better. You could always cut and fiberglass it so that it will sit flush

How would you go about fiberglass?

Guess I'll let it sit here until I actually get the car..haha. There is a slight gap though.

If you are going to do anything with the plastic dash you would do better using something made for plastic. Fiberglass will work, and bondo will work better but they will crack if the dash surface isn't prepared correctly. Some ABS sheet, CA glue and a light coat of bondo will do the best. That's the way I built up the trim around my DD in my accord.

I've got some on cardomain here: www.cardomain.com/id/lashlee

If you look at the ones for my accord you'll see what I'm talking about, though I don't have all of the build of the trim panel around the radio on there. Let me know if I need to clarify anything for you.

JDMchris - Which kit is that?

Sweet. I'll see if I can track down a broken oem player so I can make my own kit but I like how the scosche looks compared to my metra.
