Remove back seats?

Is it possible to completely take out the back seats? I never use them anyway, all I do is keep adjusting them and nobody ever sits in them. I think it would be great if Honda had a 2 seater model - it would give me a few more cubic ft of cargo space.

I'm certain that it's possible. In fact if you do some searching you'll find a post on this forum about someone who removed the rear seats from a GD. He claimed that they are quite heavy, so removing them would improve your MPGs and/or 1/4 mile times besides giving you more room for stuff.

I think if I were to remove the rear seats I'd be tempted to make a panel that would give me a level floor in the back. I'd make it removeable for those times when maximum space is the goal, but there are a lot of times that a flat loading floor is a real advantage for loading/unloading.

Please keep us informed if you do decide to go ahead with the removal.

Yes it is possible as others have said and it does remove a lot of excess weight from the fit.

Thanks

I appreciate the feedback and the link to the other thread! I'll let you know how I make out. I do art festivals - my tent, weights, tables, jewelry all goes into my fit- it is crammed floor to ceiling - having that extra space will be great!
