Her Shiny New Zaino Coat

After having my Fit for 4.5 months now, I figured it was time to kill my shoulder and shine-r-up. We'd bought a kit from Zaino sometime back and it sat on a shelf calling to me, but after reading the directions I just couldn't bring myself to washing, clay-barring, and then 3 - yes THREE coats of wax. I cheated slightly, I went through the touchless carwash and then began. I thought the car was pretty shiny anyway, but it's definitely been kicked up a few notches. In addition to the usual wax on, wax off routine, Zaino has another step with their gloss enhancer which you spray on, and yes, buff it off AGAIN. The product was very easy to work with, and I'm quite pleased - did I mention....no swirl marks! Now we'll see how long it lasts.

Squirrely: Your car looks great! When did you do the pin strip on the side? That looks sweet! You did a good job - be thankful you don't have the swirls! They are no fun. Wish I lived in Florida where the weather is warm and you can do a wax job whenever you want. I got my car cleaned up last night from our weekend snow storm and it is suppose to rain Thursday, Friday, Saturday more snow showers! Ugh can't wait for spring!

Haha, nothing... as long as it's not on my car!

Nah, just not my style. Some like it, some don't. I'm the later.

Yesssss, another Fit and Ultima fan. That stuff isn't cheap but it does go a long way and gives a great finish. I've done 10 or more polishings and I'm still only 1/8 of the way through the 12 oz bottle. Have you tried the other products in the line? I like the tire and trim guard as well as the interior sealant. Didn't care much for the soap though.

Really?!? I LOVE the soap! I just bought a bottle, it suds more then anything I've EVER used! I originally bought the sample pack and am still using it, it lasts forever! Like I said, just bought another soap bottle and their version of claybar but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Tire/trim and interior stuff is next.

I'm sold on the product! Best and EASIEST stuff I've EVER used!!!

Sorry for the thread jack....

Nice pics. I love Zaino to bad the weather in NC doesnt support it. It rains so much that its not worth all the time you put into it. How many parts/coats did you use? The last time i used it we went through 6 coats if i remember correctly. The car looks great. Keep up the good work.

I guess its not shiny enough until you can see yourself...ooops I mean your yaris in it.

So that pinstripe is like a rope design with what looks to be a teeny weeeny itsy bitsy honda logo?

And you mentioned no swirl marks, is that because it got rid of them or just didin't contribute to making any?

I got a couple of soap samples with my last Ultima order. The first one I tried didn't stand up to wheel cleaning - the brake dust made all the suds disappear. It is possible I diluted it too much, I'll give another sample a try based on your endorsement. Right now I'm using Duragloss 901 and Megs Deep Crystal Wash (a Xmas gift). The DG soap leaves a great shine. I use DG products on my beater car (93 Saab) and Ultima on my new cars. DG products are extremely cost effective (read cheap and available OTC) and have great durability. Take more work than the Ultima though.

I'll start another thread on detailing products in the Fit Care forum, apologies to the OP.
