New Fit - Damage already done!

The Fit has already been hit. My first new car... of course it would get hit, 2 months old. I was at a friend's house and his roomate cranked the wheel too quickly while backing out and scraped all the way down the back door and into the back panel. Here's the damage (if I can get the pics to work.)

Yeah, I was upset mostly bc this weekend Im putting in my springs, but I don't think it's going to effect it too much. His insurance will be paying for it though, so no worries!

i'm trying to understand how your friend did that damage in reverse. i imagine it's pretty hard to damage that part of your car in reverse by turning the wheel too hard. it seems like it be easier to just go straight and graze something. was your friend on something or reversing pretty fast? it looks like he hit something then continued to drag the side of your car against it for like...4 feet. unless he just reverses really fast?

but sorry about your car, hopefully everything gets taken care of.

The front end of his truck has a big ass, iron bumper/grille protector and when he was backing up he cranked the wheel too early (said he didn't see my car). I thought the dent was pretty long, so either he was backing up really fast or is just really dumb and kept on backing out after he realized that he hit my car (which is definitely possible, he's not the brightest). Hope I painted a picture for you!

Its actually easier to do this kind of damage then you would think.. My girlfriend did it to a benze in the parking lot at school... That was pricey!

Wow, thats expensive. And part of the problem is the thin metal that's used..see the wrinkles. I had a car that got hit by a next door neighbor..I think it was about three weeks old. He backed into the side with a trailer hitch. Punched a hole right into the trunk. Good luck with the fix..
