There I was, minding my own business, driving to work I was around 8:30 AM. Studying the road well ahead, I saw no movement, no critters. When all of the sudden, immediately in front of my left front fender, I see a deer. The moment it registers I hear a bam! It was moving left to right. It was so close when I saw it, it only made it to the right fender before contact.
Now, my nearly new baby, 2009 Fit Base, M/T, 11K miles, has been wrecked. Nearly $6K damage.

Looks pretty bashed but it looks like just cosmetic damage from the outside. Any frame or engine damage?

if it didnt its probably because the deer hit the top of the hood not so much the bumper.

i remember when i had my civic a deer ran across the road and then decided to run back to the other side again and i swerved to miss him but when i did that he jumped up in the air and i hit is ass and he did a full flip in the air and landed on his side. luckly it only damaged the hood

 

No impact on bumper, where airbag sensor is located.

 

Oh damn, I think it will be expensive to fix.

 

damn, when ever a deer run by i always freak out, i remember the first time i drove on the highway a deer ran right infront of me and barely missed it. its so scary stuff! i couldnt imagine hitting one

 

I nearly tagged a deer once driving home from school. Thank god there was no one behind me because I really tested the Fit's brakes to keep from slamming the damn critter.
