Black3sr - Re: body molding -
Do they make that for the 2007 honda fit? where should I look? (I've already gotten a couple of scratches and I think that would be useful in preventing more). Was that a pricey mod?

Thanks!

I do not know. I imagine they do. Mine are original Honda stuff not a knock off. some of which are not that nice. Check out College Hills or Bernardi. I got mine off Ebay from some US dealer. Holy crap I just checked my records - $184. I paid duty and shipping too.

Thanks KC. You suggested the location. My wife said soso, but she did notice them I never pointed them out to her. Maybe she is starting to like it?

ok more questions

good job fixing it Black3sr. I have a couple of scratches, less than the size of a quarter, and some rub similar to yours peeking out from the front drivers side. I have considered trying to fix them myself (shops want $350-$600 to repaint the entire front bumper... I feel like that's wasteful and would rather not have them keep my car for 2 days)

Did you just use fine sandpaper to sand it out or something else? did you do it by hand or with a sander? what primer?

Thanks. It did turn out well. I just did a bit of sanding by hand. Just enuf to feather the edges. I believe it was an auto primer in grey . I got a couple of run s in the finish so I just sanded them and resprayed with the TW. Did not even mask the last coats and it blended nicely.

Forgot I had this pic. TW looked good sitting among the old stuff at Turn 8 Mosport this summer at the vintage races. Since the pic visors and winkers where added and wiper mod.

Does it look good or what?

Did the spoiler mod. I may undo for winter as will be using car wash.

The bolts. These are 1/2 inch. Had to replace with 3/16ths.

Life couldn't get much better sir. A distinctively beautiful ride.

Here is a pic of my door sill. I have had them on for some time but never took the pic. Yes I do have 4 of them.

Next pics are of armrest that arrived this morning. We will see how it stands up. I sure would not be putting my fat azz on it. I will leave it to my guy riding shotgun.

I would give it a 7 out of 10. The mounting is soso. One screw at the back into console and I put one on each front corner into console Two are suppose to go inside down into console but impossible as you have to mount the top section to the bottom first. No instructions of course.

I only had to remove the old armrest and did not have to take out the piece bolted to the seat side.

It matches rather well.

For the price I am not complaining -$47 Cdn including shipping. Well $9 for the armrest and $38 shipping - lol. Good old Bay of E. I got it here -

I put the winter tires and wheels on yesterday.

I had painted them in the summer TW. Tires are 185/65R15 BFG Winter Slalom before you ask on expensive Honda Steelies.

I found some old Civic center caps. The neoprene edge was worn and black paint messy. I striped the black and wrapped a couple rounds of black friction tape on the edges. I pounded them on with rubber mallet and so far they are still on. If we get a nice day I will wax them.

Last pic is setup from last winter with plastic hub caps on the black rims.

Oh in first pic that is frost on the windows I scraped.

Why on earth would an old guy like Wild Bill be out on the roads when it is all icy, except maybe sneak up on Polar Bears in his winter stealth mobile..... Bill, You need a heated seat cushion..... It's sunny, bright and in the low 60s here.

When I had my door panels off doing the mirrors I was looking at how the fabric panels where attached. Maybe next year may replace with a black vinyl - maybe.

Are these seats the black or gray?

THe Clazzios are a bit darker than those pics - they are grey with blue stiching.

Shark fin is the expensive one from place in BC I believe?

Wily, my wife was complaining about leather seats too. So we take the Hemi when we go out.

I will have to move further afield as I have captured all the polar bears around here. Actually I released them after taking their Cokes.

Your car is begging to tell you to get some chrome wheels for her or she is going to turn into a rust covered 49 Plymouth 4 door with rusty freeze plugs and burnt valves.

Will you send me money for them? Those steelies are my winter wheels. I have my stock Sport wheels which I like very much. Maybe some mesh ones if they ever come up cheap someplace. What would you suggest?

As my wife says you can't see them when you are driving. Hard to beat that reasoning.

What your wife says is the same way I feel about my car.... Your car is a whole lot different than mine, and you are able to keep yours looking good..... Normally wheels are just wheels to me but when I look at pictures of your car and the upscale appearance it has with your present upgrades, chrome wheels with a clean simple pattern would look absolutely elegant and provide a crowning touch. You have a good eye or your car wouldn't look as good as it does and able to warrant chrome wheels but it would pull it off very nicely and with class.
