mike410 returns with a build thread (teaser inside)
So I finally was able to get an appointment to get my fenders rolled today. Don't think it will let me get any lower but defiantly going to need it with the SSRs.
Also purchased an exhaust. Something I really didn't think I would do since its an automatic but the T1R 50S didn't seem to sound much louder at all, especially with the rest of the exhaust still stock. Plus I love the dolphin tip

Fenders are rolled. Need to do some modification to the bumper mounts front and rear. Gained a bit of clearance. I just noticed as the car airs out it loses negative camber (along with gaining toe out
), I'm pretty much at 0 so adding some more camber will help fit the new wheels.

So I added as much negative camber as I currently can to one side just to see how much clearance it got me.
-3.1* at a 'normal' height

-2.2* aired out

Clearance of about 20mm for new wheels that are 19mm further out

Just need to order some spacers now. Thinking about H&Rs, anybody have any experience with spacers? Going with extended studs and not the stupid bolt on ones

Got my spacers yesterday and put them with the new studs on today

Length of the H&R studs compared to the stock ones

Made some room to get them in without taking the hub off

Some washers, a shitty lug and an electric impact got them in

Primered and painted the area

Some anti-seize on the back of the spacer

OMG the wheel fits and rotates freely

More negative camber required

So the other day I made some replacement 'fender liners' out of a trash can so I don't have to worry as much about driving in the rain and having the headlights and connectors get wet. Plus they sit much higher in the fender so I don't have to worry about rubbing them.

Today I decided to remove the rear bumper mounting screw that is in the fender because it would have been in the way when I get the rear lower.
Cut this

and this

drilled some holes where the tab opening is and used some wire to hold the bumper in place. Gonna drill a hole through the bumper and quarter panel in the future for a new mounting point after I figure out what can stay and what needs to go.

::drool::......
So finally a weekend where it didn't rain and my friend had off. We flipped the rear bag and removed the bracket. It now sits much better and is being held up by the tire on the fender. Going to have to make a cut so I can roll it where the quarter meets the bumper.
Removed the old mounts and the stock nipple for the spring

Recycled part of the old bracket to make the new bracket

In place, ready to be welded in

The new lows

Since I hadnt trimmed my bumper, it was getting popped out by the tire. So I marked where I wanted to cut and away it went.

Hard to see but nothing bumper related to rub on
