Progress Auto Rear Anti-Sway bar! WITH DIY PHOTOS PAGE 5!
Urethane bushings?
sorry to bring back an old story. Where are such bushings available for Honda Jazz/Fit? I do hope front is the same for both models (GD).
TIA,
I installed the bar on the family cuiser last night. Super easy installation. After taking a few turns on the way to work this morning, I'm a happy camper. It seemed to flatten the car out through the turns pretty well.
Leonine-
PLEASE post your impressions of this bar after installation. I can certainly wait for drive test info. until you have reasonable weather and dry pavement. I have been waiting for the availability of a traditional anti-sway bar and looking all over the Internet.
Thanks.

I installed my Progress rear sway bar on my 2007 Fit Sport last night and took it for a good thrashing today. I have to say that I am blown away by how much better the car handles now. I'm on stock suspension, and the level of grip I've gained is mind numbing. In places where I always had understeer the car just gripped like a mother. Super predictable as well. Best upgrade I've done so far.
I have the Tanabe Medallion axle back muffler hooked up to the Megan Racing B-Pipes and there is no clearance issue. I wrote this in another thread earlier, but my progress bar came new with the upgraded bolt hardware.

Just got an email back from Progress:
Does this mean the bar does not fit the GD1 only the GD3s ?
That bar (62.1060 06-08 Honda Fit Rear anti-roll bar Progress Technology: Anti-roll bars, sport springs, coil-overs, camber kits and more since 1995! )only works on 2006-2010 Fits. We do not have the Jazz in the US and
don't know about year span for fitment.

Hi there.
Will your rear sway bar, 62.1060, fit the GD1 2004 Jazz/Fits?
If so I need it shipped to NZ. Can you please give some shipping options.
Many thanks
Jason

the rear end setup is diff on a US and european/japanese model. it probably will not fit. You should look into the one from whiteline or ultra racing. whiteline is from australia, so it shouldnt be too difficult to source for you in new zealand
In one of the early posts in this long thread, there was a forum member from Italy with a GD1. I don't remember whether or not he ordered the RSB to try to make a custom fit, but a custom fit would be possible. Just a lot of work. I have used the Progress RSB on a GD3 and a GE8 Fit. Knowing what I know from this experience, and having the necessary mechanical skills, if I owned a GD1 I would definitely make the alterations that are necessary to make the RSB fit my car. Remember that the GD1 Fit was never sold in the U.S. When Progress decided to launch this product on the market, they made it to fit the GD3- the hugely popular first Fit model to be sold in the U.S.

Thanks guys.
What is the order of stiffness from stiffest to softest:
- White line 22mm adjustable, bushing located Whiteline
- Ultra racing 16mm, bushing located Honda Fit , Jazz (2004) Rear Anti-roll Bar / Rear Sway Bar / Rear Stabilizer Bar UR-AR16-035
- Progress 22mm, unlocated Anti-roll bars Honda Fit 06-08 Honda Fit Rear anti-roll bar Progress Technology: Anti-roll bars, sport springs, coil-overs, camber kits and more since 1995!
Look right?

Only a person who owns a GD1 Fit and who has used all three brands of anti-sway bars could answer your question. No such person is on these boards. If any of the bars that you listed is specified as actually fitting your GD1, that is what you should buy. The Progress bar will NOT fit without some modification.
Just because the Progress bar is not anchored to the frame with brackets and bushings does not mean that it is any "softer" than the other bars. All sway bars are spring steel torsion bars that resist drastic changes in rear wheel height during turns. The Progress bar just doesn't need to be anchored to the frame because that is the way that it was designed for the GD3 and GE8 Fits. You don't have those cars. I suggest that you buy any bar made by a manufacturer who states that his bar WILL fit your car.

I don't mind modifying. But I don't want to strap on a bar that is too stiff. Prefer to be able to dial some more camber into the front while keeping a touch of understeer. PRSB sounds like it might be a little the other way.
I'm sure there must be some one who's has had experience with more than one RSB on GDs.
Any body tried the 16mm Ultra Racing bar?

I went with the Ultraracing 16mm located bar with rubber linkages.
Not the easiest fit or best design but I didn't want to over do it on stock tires.
It did transform the car. I actually forgot that I had fitted it on the drive back from the farm. The first three corners went some thing like this:
- Eh?... Oh that's right
- Wow!
- Woa!
What a hilariously worthwhile mod. That rear torsion box must do absolutely nothing.
I am thinking that the located design must have a slight mechanical efficiency advantage over a free floating design as it induces more torsion and less bending stress into the bar. Hence how the little 16mm bar can have such an impact.
It is now very neutral with a touch of over-steer.
Front:
Camber = -1.2
Toe = 0.0
Rear:
Camber = -1.8
Toe in = 0.2mm both sides

I recently got mine from kseriesparts.com. Free shipping within continental US.
Just wanted to share that I have Swift springs on my GD3 and didn't have to unbolt the shocks to remove the springs. I also left the wheels on. I just jacked up the car and sat it on jack stands. The springs were short enough to pull them out. With the springs out it's way easier to tighten up the pan head hex bolts

Springs aren't new. Since I pulled them out, it was easy enough to clean.

I only drove it briefly to test but as most everyone else has stated, the improvement IS noticeable. Even with the Swift springs.

Well this is my next purchase since I'm pretty much focusing on suspension parts (minus the springs/coilovers). Most likely in 2 weeks or so I'll get these and install them myself. I have the stock springs so it appears that I can get the hex bolts to drop in without the need to actually take the springs off but we'll wait and see when I go to do it. Can't wait!
