Man, at this point without the existence of the Kg/mm as a company (website is up without contact page, repeated attempts to make a contact failed,.....) I do not see how can anybody get them let alone from mainland China!!! The only thing coming from China are fakes of all kind!

Power to you if you indeed manage to bring a set, I would like to see it before I lay my money down. If they are original, I will buy them and tip you for it!
Please do not get me wrong for being skeptical, but we went down this road so many times. We just did not bother posting every single time with an update of faliure. And there were multiple! We just did not wont to get anybody hopes high. Lord knows mine were crushed enough times.

With all this said, there is a remote possibility that there are original Kg/mm sets out somwhere colecting dust in somebody's warehouse. Is that in mainland China, japan, Australia, New Zealand, UK,....... who knows. So far we were unable to find anybody with any stock.

Again, if upon checking them out they are original, I will buy them. I just need to see it for myself to believe it.

I understand for being skeptical, and I do not want to rise any false hopes about these springs, since I still need to contact him about them if he can get them from Japan.

Ivan, I do have a question though. Is there any other companies that make these kind of springs? Or is there a way to rig up the springs to be dual rate? (Sorry for my lack of knowledge)

No problem at all. This is the link to "Spring Comparison" thread and my post where I mentioned ultimate set up, IMO:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...tml#post229503

Refer to set up #3 under unlimited budget. LOL!

I'll tell you what. If you manage to get real original Kg/mm SS springs for yourself, I will assemble my CRX enough to push it out of my garage to make room and install the springs on your Fit.

Ivan, can you give me some tips to spot a fake KGM spring while I'm waiting for my friends to call me back?

Atm the Site is very out dated with "new updates 11/21/2005." So the odds to get these are very slim to none. I may even need to contact friends of friends that live in Japan .

If all fail...I try to contact some American brands to at least make a version of this .

I'll keep people updated with this, but don't hold your breath if I can get these springs.

Like I said, our chances are slim and none, but there is noting wrong in pursuing the lead. One of these tries might eventually work.

This is the pic of my Integra springs.
Back then it was only known as DR21 line of springs. By the last info they switched to "dual rate" to make it more obvious.
Packaging and color of the coils might have changed, too.
Look for distinctive collapsed coils in the middle of the spring. Not too many manufacturers do it that way.

As far as trying to make somebody produce this spec of spring is nearly impossible. There is just not that many machines in the world capable of altering wire thickness in winding process.

Jimmy!!!!!!-
I caught your post late. Unlikely as it is, if you can get a source for REAL KGM springs, put me on the list- cash available whenever needed.

I'd be interested in a set of kg/mm 20mm (1") drop springs.

Hope it pans out.

Updates

One of my buddies just message me back about the springs. He told me there are two good Japanese companies (www.rhdjapan.com and Japanparts.com: TOKYO GM SHOKAI KK) that shipped parts over to the states. So I have send them an email.

Hi, to whom it may concern

I was wondering if it possible to obtain the of the Kg/mm Sport "DR Proceed" Springs for the Honda Fit (GD3) from ƒP[ƒW[ƒGƒ€ƒz[ƒ€ƒy[ƒW There are two kinds of springs available for the Honda Fit, the "SS" and the "R" line; however I would like the "SS" line. And if is possible, I would like a quote for the Kg/mm Springs?

http://lh5.google.com/IvanSaban/R1pE...%20LISTING.JPG

Thank You,
Jimmy

P.S I am part of a car forum where people are looking for this spring. And if you could find these springs for the Honda Fit, there will a huge influx of customers that going to buy these same springs.

Currently, I still waiting for the rest of my friends to contact me back, in hopes they can get them.

P.S if this goes well, we maybe able to get group buy on this .

Thank you Jimmy-
I hope that this works, but I don't think that it will. It looks as if KG/MM (the manufacturing company) is out of business. But thanks for trying.

No problems. I am really hoping the KG/MM is still around because I found other car forums wanting them, and also I found places that sell them for the Mr2 . I should send them an email about them too.

EDIT: The shop that sells the MR2 version is Bulletproof Automotive, and I just send them an email.

I just got a message from one of the companies.

Hello Jimmy,

Thank you for your inquiry,

Unfortunately, KG/MM went out of business last year and their springs are no longer available. I would suggest Swift springs as an alternative. Swift is known as arguably the best spring manufacturer in the world.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best Regards,

I just got another email

Dear Jimmy,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately Kg/mm went out of business.
So we can not supply any Kg/mm parts for you.
Sorry for inconvenience.

If you are interested in some other parts,
please reply to my own E-mail address(koji@japanvehicles.com).

Kind regards,
JAPANPARTS.COM
KOJI

This look very bad. I remember some bikes use dual rate springs, I may have to research on that.

Since I am having no luck in finding the KG/MM springs, I'm trying to look at other companies for the rare dual rate springs. It seems that H&R do have some dual rate springs, H&R Spezialfedern GmbH + Co. KG , but it going to cost you. ATM I can't seems to find a cheaper version of that for the Honda fit.

Ivan, sorry, I forgot to thank you for all the info , I am very convince to make my own version of your "Ultimate comfort with ultimate handling"

I found a listing for the kg/mm springs on an Australian import website. Maybe try contacting them?

PerfectRun -Japanese performance car parts online store-

Thanks for trying osborne!
I e-mailed them and got negative response a while back. It is a post#37 of this thread.

I think that we can unfortunately forget about getting these springs since company is dissolved.

..and quite honestly, linear rate is the way to go. car has too many
variables already driving in all sorts of conditions. keep things as linear
and fixed as possible making the weaker areas stand out more...
then work on impoving the weaker areas...well, atleast for me.

you guys ever drive around those nitro RC cars with 2sp trannys?
i think it's almost driving something like that... you can only sort of
control when the shift takes place by presetting the tension of the
tranny.. but that shift (transition) makes it harder to control the car
while on the track because there are infinite amount of senarios
before/during/after that transition and at the end, it is just too
abrupt for some senarios.

if you want to set it so it's not abrupt, then why not just get a
progressive rate spring? i think that's were it all came down to.
fun idea, just not really applicable for true tuning...and costs alot
more money to make. kinda like running a rear strut bar over rubber
mounts...
