Wanting to paint my rims Gold......

I want to paint my rims gold. I was debating on getting new rims. but since I JUST got these and the tires are perfect. I would like to see if I could get them painted GOLD. or try myself.. what would I need? Is this possible?

You might want some clearcoat to finish up the wheel. You can check out Duplicolor since I know they make spray paints and clearcoat just for wheels.

if you can I would powdercoat them they'll look 100x better and last longer.

But if you must paint just use a high temp paint or wheel paint and some clear.. make sure to wetsand them before hand and clean them up...

I was just contimplating the idea of changing rims to gold color. but we'll see. im still in the researching phase. If i do it myself, what am I looking at in cost, reliability, how it looks.. and then powder coating them (cost)... and where to get it done in my area....

You'll need to sand down the wheels to get rid of the lacquer that's already on them, that way it'll make the surface rough allowing etch primer to stick to it.

Once primed, leave it to dry, and then paint over them with your choice of colour. At least 3-5 coats of the colour. Then leave it to dry before spraying clear lacquer over it.
