HFP 16" wheels questions and answers
#41
Ask them if they will give you a credit for the stock rims and tires that come with the car. If you are ordering a sport, they can use those 15" alloys to upgrade someone with a non sport that comes with the 14" steel rims. If the sales guy does not want to help, talk to the parts manager and do the sale of the 16" HFP's through the parts department. They can do the swap when the car is delivered.

Dealer installed. You'll have to also purchase tires.
My dealer gave me a sufficiently good deal on them that I went ahead & purchased them stright from the dealer. Between shipping and mounting/balancing, their price was close to the cost to buy the tires from Tirerack & the rims elsewhere.

their the same offset as the sport wheels. at least, thats what I understood from Honda Alloy Wheel: 16" (Fit) - Bernardi Parts (read "offset matched")

Got mine today. Perhaps I am a perfectist, I found quite a few imperfections on these rims. The fact that these rims are painted just make things much worst. However, I am just glad that the imperfections only exists on the edge of the rims. For $512 USD excludes shipping for all four, I ain't gonna complaint too much....
Anyways, I weighted one of them on my digital scale. It weights 18.18 pounds. Including the hubcap, it probably weights 18.3 to 18.4 pounds. As for the spec....
As you can see here, the offset is 55. The rim size is 16x6.5.
Apparently, these rims are made in Thailand.
Just like the 15" stocker, Enkei made these rims for Honda.
Only BALL SEAT wheel lug nuts will work properly with these rims. No Mugen, Rays, and most, if not all of the aftermarket lug nuts for me then..
One other thing worth mentioning is the "HFP" markings on the rims.. These markings are just decals. I guess I'll take them all off once the rims are on my TW Fit Sport. Now, I just need a warm day to wash my car, order tires from Tirerack, and schedule a time for installation.....

HFP 16" Wheels
I've ordered my Fit Sport with these wheels. Anyone know what kind of tires they put on them?
Thanks.
Edit: According to HandA-Accessories.com, they're about 17.75 pounds each. Not super-light forged wheels, but not bad.

If your dealer has given you credit or a discount on the HFP rims then your dealer will mount tires that will fit but you can ask which tires they will use. So ask your dealer since the wheels come from Honda but they have no tires and that is all done at the dealership.
Here is an example of mounted tires-
Bridgestone potenza RE-750 205/45-16
340 treadwear AA traction W speed rated 21 pounds fit rims 6.5-7.5" wide outer tire diameter 23.2" about $110 each from tirerack.com. Talk to Jim@tirerack.com for more info.
In this same size but in Ultra High Performance All season tires for more comfort and longer treadwear with more moderate price consider-
Kumho Ecsta ASX $74 each
420 treadwear AA traction W speed rated 19 pounds
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S $86 each
400 treadwear AA traction W speed rated 19 pounds
Both are good tires for the Fit.

You can ask for 205/45-16.
Let us know what they are planning to use.
Summer tires will handled better but wear out faster.
All season tires will ride smoother and last longer but not handle quite as crisply.
Overall, All season tires make the most sense for a Fit.

The ship has already sailed as far as requesting a specific tire, as I haggled and got them to install and discount the stock 15" rims/tires from the sale price. I pick up the car today, so I'll post later on with the tire info (and hopefully some pics for the photo threads).
If it's something crappy, I'll just go get something better hooked up. I've been eyeing the Kumho's mentioned above.

OK, Ask your dealer what tires and what size they are going to install on the HFP rims?
You can ask for 205/45-16.

THanks for the pic and the tire reference. I hope they look as good on the Storm Silver as they do on your Vivid Blue. They sure looked purdy on the Honda.com "Build your own".

you'll be amazed at the difference in handling with them on. I was sooo sad to have to put the stock ones back on during the winter. I drove mine off the lot with the HFP's and was not used to the handling of the stock 15's. Night and day difference.
Enjoy them!
