If not, you may as well powdercoat them. It is more durable than paint.
I painted mine on the Fit and powdercoated OZ's on my CRX 15 years ago.
Fit's are holding up great so far.
Which ever route you take, good luck and post some pics!
nice job on the wheels!!! the "stock" stockers don't look so good now that there r so many on the road.... the paint job really hardens the lines, makes the car look tough...i might have saved some dough if i had thought of painting mine!

Thanks man! You can still do it for winter time when you are saving your custom wheels. If you still have them. No reason not to look good even in snow! LOL!
I got HFP wheel centercaps and painted the "H" in red to match. I am just trying to get a hold of small piece of real carbon fiber sheet with UV coating to put over the cap before I re-apply the red "H" over them. Once I get it all done I will update my post for "OEM wheel in black w/red rim edge".
I am tempted to get HFP wheels and "fix" them up as well, but I just can't justify the expense even at $106/ea plus tires.

I used DupliColor wheel paint. I wonted saten finish, so I did not shoot them with clear coat. For winter application I would recomend you clear coat them couple of coats. Everything you need to know is in this tread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...-rim-edge.html
BTW, I finished my center caps with carbon fiber and raised honda logo in red. It got too dark, so I will shoot some pics in the morning and update my tread.
If you do your wheels post some pics will you? I am curious to see them in different paterns and colors.

Wanting new rims

Hello all I have a stock base fit and was wanting to upgrade to the 16" rims. I've seen it is recommended to use 205/45/16 tires but I already have a set of 205/40/16 tires. If I use the slightly smaller tires will that mess up the ride or handling?

Thanks Larry

Your speedometer will read 3.5% too fast eg. at 60mph you will actually be @ 57.9mph. You also incrementally add kilometers to your car at a faster rate eg. OEM 867 wheel revolutions/mile compared to 898 rev/mile due to the smaller sidewall.

Other than that...your ride will not be messed up just a very miniscule and negligible harsher or rougher ride due to the lower side wall, but not much since 40series and 45series are pretty close.

Thanks for your replys. I decided against the rims even though they look real nice I primarily want to keep good gas mileage.

Don't know about the speedo issue but-- a 15in radius gives you a circ of 707in--91in greater than the 14in radius tire. A 16in tire has a circ of 804in--so go figure.

not negligible to a cop's radar/laser!!!!
that 1 kph/mph (could put u in a higher penalty bracket) could cost u thousands in the long run (insurance)
