rims on a 08 Fit

I have a 08 Fit and a friend of mine is telling me that if I change the rims on the car it will throw the TPMS light and that there would be no way to get it turned off, is this true?

I have an 08 fit also, after reading the owners manual and from what I've read on another site, the tpms is triggered by sensors within the wheels. These sensors send a message to your ecu telling the car when tire pressure is low. Now for it to just come on from taking the wheels off Im not sure. I just picked up a set of wheels that Im planning on putting on the fit myself. But I'm sure your local Honda dealership can turn the light off if it were to come on.

can the tire pressure sensor be taken off the OEM rim and be installed on the new rim?

2008 Tpms

Take a look at:
DIYHonda.com Video Podcasts: Podcast Episode #85 - Honda Fit TPMS Sensors in Older Wheels
shows how to move them...even how to break them.
