i have my stock tires on 15x7.5 rims. no problems. (they do seem to lose a couple psi every few weeks, but its no prob, stop by and fill it up to the proper spot until i get diff tires). sure you will be fine tho.

im on +38, it depends on if you are going to lower your fit, and how much, there is a thread on what rubs and what doesnt,
( https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...s-answers.html ) i rub a little in the back fenders, but i am also lowered on tananbe df210, a +45 will keep you rub free if lowered, but it really depends on how low you go and how you drive. i know towlie has +35 lowered with no rubbing, but he has t1r springs i think, and they are stiffer. +40 should be fine even if it does rub when you drop it, the rubbing shoud be minimal.

Offset is everything. Get a higher offset if you dont want rubbing, get a lower offset if you want a nice stance.
A stock 195/55x15 tire fits well on a 15x6.5 rim, however the 40 mm offset is likely a tad too little so wach out for rubbing. The 40 mm wheel will 'push out' by 5/8" (55-40mm) and if you want to see how close it is on your stock wheels and tire simply measure with ruler horizontally out 5/8". If you want to 'test' stick 5/8" thick foam pads on the side edge of your stocks and see if they get rubbed off.
If youre tal;king about an 09 it may work because the tire is much smaller.
On 08's the offset of 7" rim width should be between 42 and 50 mm for stock ride height (unlowered) and 45 to 50 is lowered properly. On 09 the offset should be 45 to 50 mm depending on tire size unlowered.
Offset is extremely critical as it tells you how far 'out' the the wheel is pushed out from the hub. Push it out too far and the tire rubs the fender on compression of the springs. The stock offset is 55 mm for 08 and 53 mm for 09; the wheel 'pushes out' as the offset decreases in mm so a 45 mm wheel on an 08 is 'pushed out 10 mm, or 3/8", from where a stock wheel would be IF IT IS THE SAME RIM WIDTH. If the rim is wider the rim will 'push out' further by half the increase in rim width. For example on a wheel with 45 mm offset and 7"rim the wheel pushes out 3/8" from stock for offset and half-inch for change in rim width, making the new wheel rim location 7/8" out. If you mount 205 tires instead of 195 you need to account for the extra 5 mm (half the change in width of tire and tread) at the edfge of the tire next to the fender.
Lost yet?
Don't worry. If you want to change wheels and tires just post here what you have and what you want and there are plenty of posters who can guide you well.
