Anyone running these? How do you like them. Its nearing time for new wheels and tires and I am thinking of going with these Kosei at 12.8lb each and the General G-Max (something or other) ultra high performance all seasons at 19lb. Will save me 2lb each over the stock wheels and tires on my '11 base.

I recently got a set of them for my 07 GD-3.. I have had some clearance problems on my car due the the larger 205-50-16" tires.... I had Enkei RPF1s in 15x7"41mm with 195- 55 15"s on it that weighed 24.5 lbs so the weight of the Koseis and Goodyear GTs at 10 lbs heavier has hurt acceleration a whole lot... It's nice to be able to leave a stop light without lighting up the front tires, corner at much higher speeds and not hydroplane in an inch of standing water at 70+MPH... I like them a lot for those things but I miss being able to accelerate quickly around slower moving cars and big trucks on 2 lane highways... There are other GE owners that have put 205-50-16" tires on their stock alloy wheels as well as on wheels with wider rims than the Koseis and had no problems with fit that I have heard of... They would be a great improvement over the stock wheels and tires and when I say improvement I mean it is one that you can feel.... I did have some 195-45-16" tires on some heavier wheels with 38mm offset.. Even though the wheels were heavy the weight and smaller diameter of the tires were an improvement over the stock size wheels and tires.... I would go with the smaller tire if I had it to do over again.

For me it will be a reduction in weight, so acceleration should be fine, as far as fit, 205/50r16 seems to be the goto size for the GE8's, that, and I don't think I will ever go much lower than putting swift springs on (maybe some bilstien coil overs down the road) since my driveway is steep with a break over going onto the road. What use is a car if you can't get it on the road.

I am more concerned with the quality of the rims, at $160 each they are far cheaper than most of the lightweight rims I have looked at (the RPF1's included).

As of now I am running Altimax arctics (studded) in 185/60r14, which is about 3% smaller than stock and I noticed an improvement with acceleration (and handling... ride comfort.. stability... let's just say the stock tires were crap and are not going back on the car for the summer), they don't have very good traction (though better than stock), which is what I am hopeing the 205,s will provide. Most of my dricing is spent on twisty two lane roads through the woods, so grip is more my concern.

Thanks for the info though, glad to hear I am not the only one considering or useing these rims.

You will have a surprising amount of traction compared to what you have had so far.. There will hardly be any noticeable drop in revs at highway speed... I live in a wooded rural area myself and love to get out on the roads with swooping hills and curves.. I'm probably going to put 195-50-15s on my RPF1s sometime after I get all of the other stuff I have piled up to install in place... My wife is giving me hell about it lately. I need to chill down some wine for her to mellow her out some when she gets in..
