power lock on passenger's side
#2
Why for the passenger? If you're driving, just unlock for them.
I also found out that if you push down on the driver's side door lock thing, then all the other doors will lock, too. I think I knew that at one point but forgot and then remember recently. Hmm.

I'm just asking from a security/convenience perspective, you might not always be able to lock the doors, and the passenger might like control over the ability to "secure" the doors. Just wondering if anyone had done any after-market or retrofit for this feature.

The driver is in control of his vehicle at all times, no one else...
this is a feature too, and most cars that have electronic locks, have them on all the doors, the locks on the Fit are handled by the little knobs...
just happens by security reasons, and control, they added the lock button on the drivers side.

I wouldn't mind a mod to do this...
Reason being is that sometimes if i get out of the car, i want the passenger to be able to lock / unlock the doors without having to reach over and to be able to do it quickly......safety reason mainly....

How about the passenger locking all the doors when the driver gets out to handle a dicey situation or when stopping for gas and the driver goes to pay/restroom/shop in a bad part of town?
How about unlocking all the doors so the driver and other passengers don't have to wait for the driver to fumble for the fob? Handy for making a quick escape.

i think there should be a lock not only there but in the back hatch.
Reason
1) I get groceries or some other load - back in the driveway for ease of acccess and unload from the other side - can't lock when I am done unless I go back in the house to get my purse.
2) Same and more so from the back. My crappy Windstar had this. Park - open hatch - make 5 trips to the house with the goods - go back for purse to lock the doors or go to the drivers door - no so convenient from the positioning when backing in.
Just seems to me that it is a very simple thing to add that add so much convenience.

If anyone figures out a good way to do this and have it look clean, I might be into it. I'm always looking for small/cheap but useful mods for the Fit. Also, I have the same security concern for the GF in the passenger seat sometimes.

it may take some work, but u can rig up 2 buttons for unlock and lock. wire it straight from the driver side door lock switch. find the trigger wires for lock, and ditto for unlock. find out if its +/-. make the button trigger it. Drill 2 holes into the pass. door panel, secure the button with nuts (they usually include it) If possible, u can get colored buttons. Green=unlock, red=lock.
thats the general concept.

it's not like the fit is a mile wide... i have a base model, so i don't have the keyless entry. when i unlock the door for my fiance, she gets in and reaches over to unlock my door for me. she could just as easily reach over to lock all of the doors.
but if you wanted to do it, i'm sure there is a way you could.
