Crv overheating

I have a crv 2001 model that keeps overheating on the temp gauge. We have replaced the temp switch and the thermostat but the temp gauge flys up to the red zone when going up a hill and then back down to middle upon idling or on the flat. It is not losing fluid but very frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

Make sure your fans are actually working. Park it in idle and let it sit idling and the fans should come on.
