coat hook location
Above the rear driver's side seat, on the roof, there's a handle. This one has a small hook to hang a coat hangar from.
The hangar is at the back of the handle, so if there's a jacket or shirt on a hangar it pushes against the back seat. If the hangar were attached to the front of the handle that'd be less of a problem.
Is my car's handle installed backwards or is there some reason they made it this way?

It may be that the handle with the coat-hook was originally designed for the driver's side in a right-hand-drive JDM car. For the left-hand-drive version, maybe they just swapped the parts, rather than deciding to maintain two different sets of handles. On a somewhat larger scale, this is what they've done for the rear wiper. The rear wiper in a left-hand-drive Fit/Jazz is on the wrong side, but it's a lot cheaper than maintaining many major lift-gate components in two variations. There are probably a few other wrong-sided parts in the left-hand-drive versions of the Fit/Jazz.
