Took my used 'new-to me' FIT to an also 'new-to-me' Honda dealer today for my first oil change. All went well till I got home and discovered they charged me for 5 qts. of oil. Owner's Manual says 3.5 with new oil filter (installed). Checked the dip stick and oil level is well beyond the FULL mark.
Before I address this with the dealer I thought I'd ask a couple questions to those familiar with owning a FIT. ( See accompanying photo)
1. Is the oil level shown as 'Dealer' in the photo too much to run safely?
2. Do Honda Dealers typically charge FIT Owners for an extra 1-1/2 qts of oil?
Please don't read something into this that isn't there. This could be nothing but a simple quantity mistake but I'd hate to blow seals or whatever due to my ignorance and failure to follow up.
