Wet Trunk
Wet Trunk
Why do I have water in my spare tire well. Maybe calling it a well was a bad idea. When I removed the tire a few weeks ago, there was about an inch of water in there. I dried it completely. After a recent rain, I looked again - more water.
It's not getting the floor of the hatch wet, so it's got to be leaking in somewhere down low. I'll have to get in there and have someone run the garden hose around that area. Of course, I could always drill some holes to let the water run out.

Like everyone else here, it's a Fit - 2015, EX. My son is going to squirt me and the car with the hose tomorrow. I'm hoping that helps.
Sorry can't help. I know there is a problem on the GD3 with something on the roof...
On the GD8, there might be a problem with the antenna. I also had a problem with my GE8 where the water was leaking by the rubber seal around the hatch (the rubber didn't touch the hatch on the upper portion). Had to put something underneath the rubber to "raise" it a bit so it touched the hatch.
Don't know about the GK Fit, sorry!

Honda's are well know to leak water in the trunk areas due to bad taillight gaskets. Once they get old the seals dry up and water gets past the gaskets, into the taillights lenses, and on to the floor. The other place to look is the sunroof drain tubes. If the car has one.
Maybe I should just move out west. : )
When I first took possession of my 2018 and got it home I found a lot of water in the hatch spare tire wheel well when I was checking all the tire pressures. I guesses that a dealership employee had used a high pressure washer on the car as part of the preparation process and the pressure had forced its way through a weakness in the gaskets somewhere - I never figured out where and the problem never re-occurred as a result of the many car washings I've given it. I've always been wary though that the Honda gasket somewhere is not as well sealed as it should be.
