Running 35 psi cold. My last two tanks have been 37 and 36.5 mpg. I now have around 3700 miles on the clock. The Fit seems to be finding it's groove thang.

First official tank: 31mpg...calculated...not trip-meter.

Urban driving. 90% in-town / 10% highway and limited access roads

Haven't checked tire pressure yet. Who knows what the dealership inflated to.

I'm not as worried as I was two weeks ago...very close to my 2011 FIT 5MT mpg after 9 months.

Just took my first highway trip in my 2008 Fit Sport A/T.

Drove from Atlanta (Lawrenceville), GA to Statesboro, GA and back. Had the cruise control set on 70 MPH on both trips, and there is a 800 ft. elevation difference between the two cities.

I got 39.9 MPG on the way down and 35.2 MPG on the way back. Averages out to 37.55 MPG round-trip.

Not too bad.

My wife and I have a 07 Fit Sport automatic. We have only had it for about 2 months. We are not spirited drivers anymore but we aren't hypermilers either. I did a valve adjustment and we have ran through 3 tanks of fuel since it was done. 1 tank was 34.4 one 34.6 and one 35.1. That is actual calculated mileage too! We have a Ultragauge in the car which I think helps with the fuel mileage also. It makes you realize how your driving effects your mileage. I also run 40psi cold in the tires. We live in East Tn. and there are a lot of hills here so that kind of mileage in 50/50 mixed driving seems very good to me. Especially with an automatic!

Ok, This is a re-post from a dead thread.. I have a 2012 Base AT and was adveraging 32 with 60/40 Highway / city at first. I now have 6000 miles and have been adveraging 34 as it seems the engine has broken in. I have done my 1st oil change and went with Mobile1 0w-20 Full synthetic. Then today..DUH I noticed I have had the Air Conditioning on and have no idea how long it has been on! I don't think it was long I just noticed my cooling fan cycling on and off which had not happened in the past I will update late on!

I've noticed that having the A/C on makes a big difference in what the instantaneous MPG bar reads, so I'm betting you'll get 3-4 MPG better without the A/C on.

I've only had my 2012 Sport A/T for about a week. So far I've gotten 37 MPG for the first tank and 36 MPG for the 2nd tank (by the readout and calculated for verification. The readout seems to be accurate so far within about 1 MPG). Of course most of my driving is interstate with the cruise set at 70 and backroads/highways doing between 40 and 60 MPH.

My latest fill up: 35.28 mpg. A little more traffic to deal with this time around. Still very pleased!

Achieved 44.9 mpg driving Chicago-Detroit. (08 AT)

Decent tailwind, only two people and not much stuff. Tires pumped at low 32-36 psi.

Moderate hypermiling used.

33 mpg on previous tank. Traffic was unusually horrible last week! Well maybe not that unusual for Atlanta.

37 mpg on my fill up this week. Traffic a little lighter than normal. I'll probably average 34-35 mpg.

With all the stop and go driving I do, I'm still very impressed!

This thread is killing me y'all!

I have a 2009 Sport with Nav (A), 50/50 highway city. I am happy if I hit 30 mpg. I have read quite a few threads on better gas mileage but can't seem to figure out whats wrong. I have had my car two months so I feel as if I should "know" the car at least a little. Any suggestions?

Ya'll are killin me

How about some more info please? Do you drive in hilly or mountain country? Do you tend to run the Fit hard? I am averaging 34MPG in 50/50 driving now that the car is broken in. The highest I have seen was highway at 41 but I'm sure that had more to do with fill-up technique and tailwainds maybe. Anyway as I said at the start, this sure beats my old 1996 Taurus! I do not "grandma" drive but I do not "flog it" either. I have switched to Mobil1 0W-20 and plan to stick with that. My old Taurus had 205,000 when I got rid of it and I had always used Mobil1 with that car.

Milage Aid

OOne more thing. My Fit Base is "drive by wire" EG no throttle cable. I have found that I get better fuel economy if I use the cruise contorl as much as possible. Hard for a driver to make the adjustments for fuel economy that a computer can!
Just an after-thought!

2009 Honda Fit Sport A/T
40,XXX miles on the odometer

Last tank (87 octane):
I got 322 miles out of it
average about 30.1 MPG with a mixture of city/highway driving. The majority was in the city (about 90%). I'll be testing out highway MPG when i travel to Houston soon.

Driving to and from work here on Long Island I can manage an averaged 41mpg on a tank. But that's doing 56mph and coasting up to traffic lights and things. Not exactly a peppy trip.

I should mention, it's a 2010 Fit Sport, with an automatic transmission.

A few months back we took a drive south, and I only managed around 31-32mpg, I guess because we were hauling at just under 80mph.

08 sport mileage report

went on a 2200 mile trip across southern us my first leg of the trip was pa down through hilly wvirginia and nc got 31.8 mpg due to car was constantly shifting up hills up to 5000 rpms to keep speed up to 65 or so then next part was going through mostly flatter areas with speeds around 72mph got 34 mpg another leg of the trip through flat georgia for 300 miles i was on a 2 lane doing 45-60 mph got an outstanding 36.8mpg going through tenessee and kentucky hilly country heading home back down to 32mpg each measurement was with at least 250 miles and with 2 people and quite a bit of luggage, i was happy with the results except i think the fit needs a little more power especially for long steep hills require frequent 4500 rpm blasts to keep at least 60mph i bet the car could get 40mpg gallon on flat road at 50mph no stops with 1 light person in the car and tires with low rolling resistance
