2008 fit has tire pressure monitor?

Small Fit proving to be big hit for Honda - AutoblogGreen

In the meantime, Honda has added some new equipment to the model for 2008. The Fit has a five-star safety rating in the frontal crash test. Newly added is a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) which, in addition to providing a safety benefit, can also help with efficiency. Maintaining proper tire pressure is one of the easiest ways to improve mileage, and the TPMS can help the driver make sure they stay that way. The 5-speed manual Fit is rated at 28/34 mpg according to the new 2008 EPA mileage tests.

the answer is no you cant. each rim has a sensor. Look at Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda the rims for 08 have diff part numbers due to the fact of sensors. The rims are even more money than the 07 wheels. the info for the tire pressure will show on info screen where mileage meter shows.

Aren't the holes for the valve stems larger in the cars that have the TPMS to accomodate the sensors?

This is exactly why there are different wheels for the 08. If the sensor could just switch over then they'd be no reason to have wheels specific for 07/08 model year.

Quote from college hills honda:

HFP 16" Alloy Wheels
These wheels are strictly designed for the 2008 Fit.
Part# 08W16-SLN-100A
Application: 2008 Fit ONLY
Installation Instructions PDF
Your Price: $206.40
Retail Price: $285.00

Here are 07 wheels. much cheaper also:

HFP 16" Alloy Wheels
8-Spoke wheel design. Carbon bronze finish. Comes with HFP logo. Recommended tire size 205/45 R16. NOTE: These wheels are not designed for the 2008 Fit due to the addition of tire pressure monitors.
- 16x6 1/2
- 55 Offset
Part# 08W16-SLN-100
Application: 2007 Fit ONLY
Special Price: $106.80
Was Price: $154.80
Retail Price: $209.00

I work at a infiniti dealer and i asked a tech about the sensors on our cars. He said they just switch them over. I'll get more details. Hopefully its the same for the fits

Canadian Tire sells a tire pressure monitor for $150.

Canadian Tire

Do a Google search for "S&T Tire Pressure Monitoring System".
Some even monitor tire temps.

Those are big as hell... and no locking mechanism on it?

That would mean some dumbass could come by and take one or two of them like they take normal caps... althought I'd doubt they'd take it since it probably looks like a big tumor on your rims...

Cool It *&^%$! There is no way I would recommend those. No one was linking to any sites so I did and you jump all over it. Do a Google search like I said and see all the other ones that are mounted INSIDE the tires.
