Nice! I need to get my S2000 aligned after lowering it, but I have more to do before that gets dealt with.

thanks! yah, busy life can set back these projects for sure. it took me over a month before i could give myself enough time (and energy) to do the lowering on my GTI.. car looked terrible with dat gap.

and it if it wasnt for extra help i got this time, mightve taken even longer..

going to do the HydroMax application later today on my GTI, followed by GK tomorrow.

basically wash the car with non-sealant enhancers, clay the roof, hood, and maybe the top of the rear bumper, then wipe everything down with rubbing alcohol, spray to seal.

hope to be done with this real quick as im really limited with time these days.

got done applying Hydro Max sealant on my dd (16' GTI) yesterday and wife's GK today.

yesterday da air was real dry to a point the product was flash drying while i was applying it resulting in some smears on the black paint. i found dat misting distilled water over the smears and lightly buffing it evened out the pre-cured layer and smoothed it out real nicely.

per Prima, the manufacturer, there is no ill effects of using water while applying their sealant. no problem with bonding or curing (clouding) issues. turned out REAL nice.

today the air wasn't as dry so no issue with smears on the GK. the best part is dat i applied Hydro Max on the GK earlier this spring and it was only my 2nd time washing the car today. no stains or grime dat did not wash off with ease. real nice durability. in da 6 months, people complimented my wife she kept her car real clean.. lol, was only washed once during all dat time.. well, heavy rain washed it i guess..

Btw don't forget to psi up your tires

1psi change per 10F change.

psi'ed up the spare this am for my cars. laughed at VW leaving my GTI's spare with only 35psi where it needed to be at 60psi.
i carry these portable air pumps in the cars so no issue, but one less thing to worry about on the roads.

i still think the GK's spare is a pita to get out of the trunk with its self-disintegrating foam tray for the tools. so dumb.
anyway, with the cooler air, check ur tire pressures and dont forget the spare!

did a wash after the HydroMax application and it is real nice. teflon like coating, water sheets off very easily. i started using a small metro sidekick blaster (blower) instead of my shopvac in blower mode for speedy drying. get the water out of the nooks before wipe down, also dry the wheels, tires, and brakes.

Do you use this product on glass or plastic, or just the paint?
The reason I ask is that I intend to do my first wash, sealant, and wax in a month or so. After that I might do the xPel bra, as I had asked about in another thread.
Any pointers for doing an inaugural treatment would be helpful and appreciated.

got in my wife's GK after returning my work's company car only to find i was like 15min behind schedule so had to get on my arse to meet up with my kids about 20miles away.

not dat i was driving crazy or doing any dangerous speed driving, but the GK is so frikken slow it was unbelievable in these rushed situations. needs at least another 150hp to get me to places swiftly. mpg reading went from 40.8mpg to 29mpg in the 20 mile run on the express way. hahaha. thing sounded like a vacuum cleaner the entire way.

honestly speaking those of you putting all sorts of aeroparts on your fits.. get real. do turbo and brakes first. my GTI is so much faster and it is bascially a sleeper grocery getter kinda car.

I like slow cars.

AP1 is too fast for me on the street. Top of second & I'm breaking every speed limit in the state

Honda just needs to let their balls drop by putting the 1.5L I4T from the Civic, rear disc brakes (since the GK5 drums don't really do squat... when new), and a nice performance wheel and tire combo.

Pair it with a 6 speed manual OR the 7 speed DCT then BOOM... Instant Fit Si or RS.

yah agreed! it needs to be able to do 0-60 in under 6 sec and be able to hang with the faster hatches. den we got something

the handling on the GK is pretty good... just needs a faster engine and bigger brakes to match.
