thanks, davela.

yah, i think the trick to getting more space is to get as much stuff
off the floor and try to arrange vertically. i tried several different
kinds of shelves and cabinets in the past but they all went to the
basement after trying it. i just needed more floor space and mobility
with my carts. goodluck with your project!

so today, im suppose to be getting the WERFEN center caps for
my SSR GT3 wheels (G35C's wheels) via USPS. why am i
kinda nervous you ask?

im kinda nervous, cause after doing some studying, WERFEN
wheels are dedicated to euro cars with PCD 5x120. my car is
5x114.3 so the center caps *might* be too big for my wheels
if you think about the proportions between the cap and lug
bores.

so im sure some of u are probably questioning why (as my wife
asked last night), i did you not measure my existing SSR centercaps
and just ask the store if the WERFEN's are the same?

um yah, let's see... first off, i work for a OE manufacturer and if i
was SSR, i would use the same center caps for all similar designed
wheels for commonality...to save cost. make sense.

second, we're talking about a j-store that does not usually carry
this part. im kinda kissing arse to get some measly center caps
when these folks are shipping expensive turbo kits, body kits, even
entire cars to the US. so yah, im kinda taking some risks too. make
sense.

... so, i hope they match. hahahaha. ($230+ shipped for 4)
not cheap if you think just center caps, but when you think about
the price of the wheels each, that's about right.

if they dont match, off to ebay they go. lol wish me luck.

hey, i got my WERFEN caps to work. lol

i measured the emblems and they were same diameter.

took a heat gun and a socket with tape on top not to scuff
the backside of the emblems and pushed it off the holding
clips like so...

here you can see how different the holder caps are...

SSR cap holder outer diameter...

WERFEN cap holder outer diameter...

Finished product... i tried it on my wheels this morning and
they look FABULOUSOUSOUSOUSOUSOUSSSSS....

Left cap is WERFEN as-is... Right is my modded cap

anyway...back to my FitS.

each time ive been going to the drive-thru ive been wanting
a coin holder. i use one of the 2 cup holders for my nifty
trash cup with a lid, the other for my beverage, the back
cup holder for my candy, etc.

i think next 'mod' are going to be the coin holder that replaces
the dummy cap next to the mirror switch and that cool red
HAZARD switch.

placed my order for that coin holder thingie. hope to get it before the next
drive-thru.

just a follow up on the JVC Arsenal with the SRS circle surround.
i like it. my stereo sounds SOOOO much better. with the
TrueBass processor and EQ, i dont need a sub. nice and tight.

i wish the FitS's doors had more dampers inside... the outside
noise insulation is like maybe less than 1/4 of the performance
of my G and loosing a lot of the lower frequencies, lots of wind
noise, lots of loud crap music-ish noise seeping in from other cars
even with the window up. i thought my window was cracked
open... perhaps down the road some dynamat might be a good
idea.

that key ring LED is coming real handy now that DLS is over.

well, mine's not a perfect ring... more like a half-ring but it's very
functional. highly recommend it. that and the MIRROR switch
backlight. pretty easy to do if you have a soldering iron.

so i got the new coin holder installed.

showed the wife last night and asked wat she thought it was.
she asked if it was a urinal for LEGO man.

took literally no more than 30sec to install. fuse cover off, push
out dummy button cover from the back, pushed coin holder in.
done. im ready for my next drive-thru.

got the bb BOLD running, haven't hooked it up yet to the FitS, but
shall give it a shot in the near future.

for anyone upgrading to the BOLD from the previous models, you
need to format your MicroSD card before you can use it properly...
otherwise your PC keeps getting a blue screen with error messages
(locksup) when you are working through your pict/music files as
a mass-storage device.

so backup your microSD onto your PC, format it on your PC, slip it
back into your bb and activate as storage device to start copying
your files back.

I think its officially now "winter" given that I'm seeing flurries this morning. Which means my G is going to hibernate and pull out my FitS on the weekend morning drives.

As far as motoring the FitS, I'm finding that my Piloti driving shoes are too thick on the sole (pedals are too close) and prefer to run my sketchers casual shoes with the rounded heel.

Although I telescoped my steering wheel with the Daikei and Momo setup, the pedals are still kinda close for my preference. Your probably thinking 'just get a larger spacer for the steering hub' but that means my turn signal stalk will be that much farther (separated) from the steering wheel and hard to use.

So, just changed shoes. . The leather slippers I wear for work have thin soles so they are perfect.

been noticing quite a bit of rattles on the dash the last couple of days due
to the colder weather. it doesn't vibrate with the engine so its not too
bothersome, but my 5+yr old Cooper-S has barely any no rattles vs the
11 month old FitS, driven in the same temps... hummmmm...
