so last night went to grab some burgers in the GK and noticed how eager the car runs while not pushed. hadn't driven the car in a while and it was a pleasant surprise. how light the car is and how responsive the steering is in parking lots and stuff.

Yeah the Fit was a go-kart in terms of handling...just needed more power. Also didn't care for the torsion bar rear suspension.

Went to Home Depot for a 8 foot 2x10 plank to turn into a shelf above our bed. The GE had fit similar sized boards with ease. Not to mention a dishwasher and 55" flat screen tv without a hitch. It took some doing in the Civic...but it sure didnt seem as secure as it did in the Fit. I had to drive all cautious to ensure the plank didnt shift and hit me....or any panels for that matter.

Happy Monday everyone. Short week for me, only at work until Wednesday, then off to Phoenix to have a long weekend visiting some friends who live out there.

shinjari - yah definitely agree on the power or the lack of. good job carrying back the planks in your civic. yah that is one thing i worry all the time.. scratches on the interior! especially on leather seats. no issue on the GK, i just toss things in there and don't care.

nice on the short week! i too have to do some traveling but for work.

Even our similarly shaped and sized Golf can't match our old GD Fit. I bet the new GK is even better.

Plenty of things to dislike about the Fit, but not it's cargo capacity vs overall size. Funny that you put a dishwasher in yours. We've had a washing machine in ours as well as a 55" tv. It's the only car we own that can fit a 55" tv.

Happy short week shinjari! Have fun on your trip!

oh yah, as far as utility the GK is king. my Golfs can probably only carry half the stuff the GK can carry. which brings up a point about the NX.. i wonder if it can carry as much cargo as the GK.. cause the NX is to replace the GK..

Thanks! Yeah I fit my 55" tv flat in the back. Its that ingenious front mounted gas tank that gives so much floor space. The dishwasher is probably the largest overall volume in 1 item I've fit in there. Also fit a wheel barrel and several bags of mulch etc.

I brought several blankets to ensure I covered anything the planks could possibly come into contact with.

That's when you know you're driving a CVT. Despite the larger size and turbo motor, my Dad's CR-V is the same. Vacuum cleaner sound.

Did I mention that I despise CVT's?

According to guy at tire shop my Fit may have a wheel bearing going bad.

However, only noise I hear are the same noises that I heard when the snow tires went on last year & that went away as soon as they were removed.

Stupid blizzaks.

huh that sucks. i can't tell if the blizzaks on my GK are making any weird noises. seems to be regular tire noise no pulsation.

yah, i was like damn this car has super bad luck! but luckily no issue this time.
drove my GTI home from the office, had a nice relaxing drive. getting pretty chilly out there. funny how yesterday it was like 63F and now 29F wtf..

so my work is moving to another building soon and not looking forward to the parking structure that is no longer attached to the building. before i could just wear my dress shoes to work and walk from the parking garage to the office no issue. now im going to need to wear winter shoes and keep my dress shoes at my desk. sucks mang..no tunnel or bridge or nothing. must walk outside, cross side street, get run over by car while crossing.

might just change out my outfit and go a tad more casual in the winter months.. wear kahki's like jake at statefarm.

My office is business casual.

Though I definitely trend more casual than business.

This time of year I generally wear a sweater, skinny jeans & (on days where the ground is clear) some sort of hypey street wear shoe. I look good, but not necessarily professional.

All that said to say the following, dress shoes in the snow are the worst.

yah, i should probably just wear my sweaters to work and snow shoes this winter. agreed on dress shoes in snow.. messes up the leather and salt stains, etc. etc.

i hate wearing nice clothes on planes when i travel too. those seats are so f-king dirty sometimes. so i have a set of clothes dedicated for travel and just hand them to my dry cleaner often.
