after 4 months of having locking gas cap from stanly i am getting a check fuel cap msg. I retighten it couple time and restarted the car i still get the msg. i am going put back the old cap and ordering the honda locking gas cap.

 

It could be you are not screwing in the Stanley cap squarely or the seal is damaged and your cap isn't sealing correctly. It happens on many new cars when the cap doesn't seat well. After inspection very carefully screw the cap on making sure its aligning correctly.

 

i put back the old cap and everything is fine. waiting on the honda locking one to come now.

 

I would suggest only the Honda one. Not sure if others have tried different locking caps or not. So far, the Honda cap has only been talked about.

Whats the price difference on the 2 caps?
