Another MR around town
Another MR around town
There was another MR Fit on the local Honda dealership lot and it was sold recently. I saw it last week parked outside of Wendy's. As I was going through the drive in looked into the main dining area and the only people there was a little gray haired couple. So I thought maybe someone working at the Wendy's owned it. Anyway, down at the mall yesterday and stopped to talk to an old friend I hadn't seen for awhile. I noticed a MR Fit Sport pull out of a parking space just down from where I was parked on the back forty. I said, "Hey, there goes my car". They drove down the row until they saw my MR and pulled up right beside me. It was the little gray haired lady driving - They stopped for a few minutes to look the car over and then drove off. I am sure they are thinking - OMG - what is this person doing to their Fit - all those Zeta and King Motor parts hanging off the car. Not to mention the new tail of a dragon that I just put on the gas door cover! I bet they were saying, " What the heck is Mugen?"
The Honda lot had a BOM and SSM on the lot, both are now gone and another MR Fit Sport was on the lot yesterday - they are selling like hotcakes!

Hi Cat,
I know from reading some of your other posts that you have the Mugen window visors. Did you install them yourself, or did you get somebody to do it for you?
I am picking up my new MR Sport manual tomorrow and am thinking I might want to add visors at some point. The Mugen ones look really sharp. The JDM ones look decent, though somewhat more conservative.
I like it that the Fit appeals to old gray-haired folks as well as young folks in school or in their first jobs, as well as all ages in between.

I agree - the Fit does Fit everyone!Cat :x
Nice! Here in Cali there is a good amount of Fits, i see at least a couple daily.
At my school a girl drives a MR S that is completly stock. I always park right next to it lol. Its funny to compare mine right next to a stock Fit, mine is so much lower. When school gets out we always talk Fits for a while about modding and stuff. She still hasnt joined here tho lol.

Visors
Hi Cat,
Thanks a lot for responding. I'll check for other threads about visors on the forum to get an idea of whether I want to install them myself. I have a friend who's a mechanic, and maybe he and I could do them together.
Guess what, Vermont (where I live) doesn't allow you to tint your windows. I think you can do a four-inch strip at the top of the windshield, no tint on the front side windows, and tint is OK on the rear side windows and the hatch. I like the looks of tinted MR Fits a lot, but I don't think tint here and there would look very good, so I doubt I'll have it done.
When I suggested to my wife that we get a Fit (because our old Subaru s/w is at 180,000 and becoming less-than-reliable), I asked her what color she preferred. I kind of suspected that she would say red, which was my first choice too. There is something so cool about a small red car. The way I see the Fit is that it's a combination sports car, utility or van-type ride, and an economy vehicle. People can emphasize these different aspects of the design according to their own preferences through modifications. How cool is that!
Anyway, I'm excited that ours has finally come in. It was over a month ago when we started leaning toward actually buying a Fit, and I called up the nearest Honda dealer. Fits are extremely hard to get in Vermont, probably because we just don't have the population that other states and areas do. So when I called the dealer, and they said that they had finally been able to order in a MR Sport, I gulped and said -- "Manual or automatic?" -- and was very happy to learn that, yes, it had a hands-on transmission. I put a credit card deposit on it then and there. Now, in less than 24 hours I'll be tooling home along US Route 2 in my brand new Fit. I can't wait! It will be a red-letter day.
Here's another coincidence. A good friend of mine was looking to get a new car, so I told him all about the Fit and pointed him to some online reviews. He was thinking that yeah, he might like a Fit (he owned a Civic long ago and thought it was a great car), but he wanted to test drive a Corolla first, and also a Rio 5. So yesterday he and his wife drove over to Berlin City, New Hampshire, about an hour east of here, and they drove home in a brand new BBP Sport manual! I kidded him about having to "keep up with the Joneses." I think that in the space of two days, we will have upped the number of Fits in northeastern Vermont by about 100 percent!
