If the dealer is showing you what is scheduled to be built and not just telling you he ordered the car you should be fine. Just be a little sceptical if he doesn't have the build/in transit list.
Yep. I saw the confirmed list of what they knew they were getting. He was also working on trading for some whites w/ navi for a few people... he made about 4 calls to other dealers while I was there... seems white is going to be a popular color.

It helps if you wait until the damn things are actually out.

I wish I could. My old Fit was totaled I am borrowing a car until I can get a new one. It would have been much nicer to wait until next year, sell mine and then take my time. This takes all of the fun out of it .

I'm glad I cant get one for a while... it gives me time to do two things:
  1. doubt myself and do massive amounts of research about Honda, fits, and all other aspects of buying a new car as i never have before.
  2. hype myself up so much that i about go crazy with anticipation of my new car.

exactly what i said. two local dealers have a total of 8-10 fits in 08 model
year. all from sports to base.
then i saw the 09 and all the new stuff it comes with and i said
i have to have this. this is why i'm getting one next month.

Hello every1! I'm planning to get a 09' Fit, and I've got some questions so hope some of you guys could help me out here. I have long commute every day, about 100 miles, so comfort is my priority.

1. How comfortable is the driver seat or say the over all comfort level compare to the 08' model? The 09' has longer wheel base right? So it should be less bumpier than the 08? I know how harsh and flat the 08' seat are. Are there gonna be a lumbar and height seat adjustment on the 09'?

2. Does the 09 still get the reclining rear seats?

3. The Scion XD, the new Corolla and the 09' Fit. Could you say the Corolla got the most comfortable ride?

Chime in~! Tia!

This can not be answered yet, but the 09 seat are supposed to be larger and built around a larger frame.

Yes.

Still Unknown, 09 Fit isn't out yet.

2009 Test Report!

Have you seen the test report of the 2009 Fit in the JS on line? Somewhat disapointing if credible! Link below.

Hadn't seen that yet. Not much new info. 3 whole sentences about how the car drives. THAT's what I want to hear about.

Confirmed: No relax mode, same gas mileage as 08, no standard VSA, poor sun visors, $800 price increase, 122lb wt. increase, only 1 cuft interior space increase, etc, Whatever -I have a SSM Sport auto on order and hope springs eternal.

the Fit is five inches longer than the original.
This is wrong, hard to believe this guy actually had an 09 to test before anyone else did. Would be interesting to know where exactly he got his information, especially the "price as tested" part since I doubt he actually had one to test.

From Honda:
Wheelbase has been increased 2 inches to 98.4 inches
Overall Length goes up 2.2 inches to 153.5 inches.
Overall Width is 0.8 inch wider
Front Track is 1.4 inches wider
Rear Track is 1.2 inches wider
This guy is saying the Overall Length will be 162 inches long?

Chilis Trip post brings up a timely point, any insiders know if an '09 demo Fit is making the car mag rounds yet? I'm sure the September issues are already printed and out. I would imagine any stories for the October issues probably need to be in progress or soon to be. If the new Fit is available in October, surely the motoring press (C&D, MT, R&T, AutoWeek, Edmunds, ...) will get "First Drives" prior to the public release.

I doubt the guy actually had an 09 to test at all. He doesn't even mention the new i-vtec engine.

I would say it is very likely. However I do know, with Honda motorcycles at least, the the media companies have to sign an agreement that they will not release any information before a set date.

Pretty typical number.
