Finding a K-series?

How would you go about getting one?

Would it pass inspections?

How much approx. would it cost to buy and install into a fit?

I guess those guys are reliable. There's alot of importers for jdm versions and you can usually get usdm versions from the same companies. Just google for purchasing engines...usually searching "jdm 'engine name' " comes up with results easily.

in addition to the engine block itself, i will be needing a new tranny and exhaust system?

no matter what swap you do, it's gonna cost big bucks, and a lot of custom work.

yea, and you will need a new tranny and exhaust. It's...well, IMO almost not worth it unless you own/work for a tuning shop that does this kinda stuff but, lol for the money you'd spend(buying a fit and a k20+labor for it/time you spend and all the custom stuff you need) you could prolly find an rsx or even just go witha civic si.
o yea, if it's jdm engine...prolly won't pass smog n stuff of the sort, if its ausdm then you could get it too.

well i just really like the fit! and maybe once the civics get a bit older i will swap in an R18. enough power for the weight of the car and MUCH better gas mileage.

There are several sources for used Honda engines; the instakllation might not pass inspection if the inspector knows what he's doing. I believe the law states replacement engines must be of the same as the original. Most of the time, unless the emissions tests fail, the inspectors don't care. In most cases its likely the emissions tests would fail.

Really, this makes no sense. Why buy a Fit, then gut it and put a K16 or 20 in it? New Tranny also, exhaust, brakes. Your running close to 30,000 or more. If you have the need for speed by the MS3/STI/EVO.

I guess some people like to be somewhat different. Or have the built not bought mentality. I am one of those people. However I would never do anything as crazy as a swap to my fit. Its daily driven and I need it to be reliable haha

Well I mean the setup, not so much the motor. But more the ecu, etc. etc.

Yea, I'd love to do a swap on a fit...but yea. I wouldn't use a brand new car unless of course I worked for a perf. shop that does it mostly for like publicity/sponsors n stuff like that. But if I was alone on it I'd rather just get an older car and do it Or buy a more powerful car/one with more potential straight up.
