Birds love my Fit!
Birds love my Fit!
Hi everyone, I desperately need some suggestions!
So, I've had my SSM Fit Sport for just under a month. I'm totally in love with this car and I'm trying hard to take good care of her. Well, since bringing her home, I've discovered that a few robins like to perch on my side mirrors when the car is parked and crap all over the mirrors and down the doors! It is disgusting. I mean it is an obscene amount of bird crap. Not only does it make my brand new baby filthy, but I worry what the "stuff" is doing to the paint.
Unfortunately, I only have two options for parking - behind the house where the birds are (no garage) and on the street. Obviously, I'd like to avoid parking on the street, for safety reasons.
Does anyone have any ideas for keeping the birds off my cute little Fit? I've tried putting bags over my mirrors - they just crap on the bags and it still gets on the doors! It seems they like their reflections in both the mirrors and the windows. Ugh. I'm at the end of my rope! I can't even show off my cute new car because she's almost always covered in bird droppings!
I'm ready to buy a BB gun...

It IS disgusting. I bought some Armor All External Wipes but I can only "spot clean" so many times a day. Besides, these aren't exactly spots! Foul.

I had the same problem in my work place parking garage. The pigeons would not leave my car alone and actually they were walking all over my roof and pooping. I ended up placing a piece of Reynolds Wrap over
my antenna and shaped it like bird wings, large ones. They would not come anywhere near my Fit after that. It was funny because everyone kept asking me if I knew that someone had put a piece of Reynolds Wrap on my car because they know how I am about the Fit! I just took it off at the end of the day for the drive home and reused the next.
The pigeons went elsewhere and no poop since then

I had a bird problem on my roof a few years back. So annoying to me, and my family. So i decided id take my airsoft gun to them, they scattered, came back later, i shot them again and there nest(not killing them just scaring them) and they havent been back on my roof since.

get a snake. it will eat the birds. haha and to stop the birds from pooping on your car, get a car cover. i have one and everytime i look at it, there is a new bird poop on it. soooo worth the money.
..... and where do you store the poop infested car cover? yuk..
i wait till its crusty and scrape it off. haha yea its gross but better than having it on your paint. a 100 or so bucks for a new cover is better than a few thousand dollars for a paint job.
yah, i suppose a cover is nice for when i need to park outdoors
at a airport or something for a few days straight.
my dd's are parked outside. every morning i check my cars for
bird crappage.
