Accord Antenna RetroFit?

Cross posting:

I'm wondering where the most recent generation Accord's radio antenna is located. Is it in the back glass or roof mounted? I've noted a number of Accords running down the road with a small antenna on the roof. Is that roof mounted antenna only for the satellite radio/navi, or does it work with the AM/FM radio as well? For some reason, I can locate a part number for it online. I see what looks like a roof mounted antenna on the parts diagram, but no part# associated with the parts diagrams.

I'm curious because I'm afraid that someone will tear off the antenna on my Fit. I have to leave it parked down town overnight when I'm at work, and I'm usually gone for a day or more. If the Accord's roof mounted antenna works with the AM/FM radio, then I'll retroFit.

Why not just unscrew your antenna and bring it with you?

Taking the top part off is okay, I guess, except that it's just one more thing to do before I can get to work. LocTite would work, but what I'm worried about is someone tearing off the tip and base, or attempting to, and messing up the roof. With nothing sticking up but the little blob like the Accord has, there's less chance that some random jerk from the housing project next door will mess with it.

Any idea as to where the Accord's antenna is located? I'm beginning to think it's window mounted, with the little blob antenna being for the sat/nav.

the am/ fm is in the back window, you could plug the hole and put a low profile one in the headliner or something

Thank you! That was the answer I needed. Not the one I wanted, particularly...

I was hoping that the roof mounted antenna would work. I guess I'll go ahead and get that VG shark fin antenna, then.
