Some chick ran over our mailbox here at work, one night recently. She was driving an Element.
It's a pipe made of steel, and she knocked it outa the freakin ground and then found herself parked on top of it. A guy helped her jack up the car and extract the pole. When we repainted and reset the pole, we put reflectors on the sides. Cellhone yakkers, that's what I think.
BAM! "Oh, let me call you back. I just got hit by a mailbox."

Thanks, I needed that bit of humor.
Did you bill her insurance agency for your repair efforts? I would have. At full garage rate.
During the conversation it might slip out that the reason for the accident was talking on the cell phone. And then it gets really funny.

my dad built a mailbox out of 6 inch pipe schedule 80 and set it 4 feet in the ground. some teen in a 240sx was racing and hit it........ long story short the county asked him to replace it with a standard wood post to hold our mailbox. the kid survived. the 240 did not.....

Is what I'd use. We use it on our fire trucks and gear. Several hundred candlepower of reflectivity.
