if theres no passenger in the passenger seat will the air bag light on the dash light up as off?

or does it just activate and stay on all the time?

are there sensors on the seats that tell the computer that someone is sitting in the passenger seat?

im asking this because everytime i start up my car next to the pass airbag light theres an off light too it lights up then after 3 seconds it turns off?

 

the passenger seat has a sensor that turns the passenger airbag on if 90lbs or more is sitting in the seat.

if you get in a wreck with say a 40lbs briefcase sitting in the passenger seat then the front passenger airbag will not deploy. this is to help reduce injury to children or smaller sized people who sit in the front seat.

 

I'm gonna try to do this by memory:

If there's nobody sitting there the off light will blink a few times when you start off the car.

If there is weight in the seat, but not as heavy as a person, the amber light under the radio will say 'Off' and the beeping will not sound due to seatbelt buckle.

If there's somebody sitting in the seat then I don't think there is any light, but if they don't put on their seatbelt the beeping will begin.
