I tested both a base and a sport model yesterday. Acceleration is better (slightly) than its competitors. It feels similar to the previous generation Civic hybrid in terms of power. While bringing the car to its limits around tight corners on the test track, I was pleasantly surprised how much less body roll and under steer was felt compared with a Chevy Aveo or the Scion xB. Since few will ever put the car through the kind of abuse the Fit took yesterday, its real world advantages are the Honda attention to detail and level of features that are standard. There are less expensive vehicles in the sub-compact market but none of them can get you from points A to B with as much class, style, versatility and safety. I am already looking forward to the re-design due in a year. With a car that is essentially 6-7 years old in design and still out classing the rest of the market, It's easy to assume that the 2008 Fit will completely run away with it.

APA are the one of the largest negotiators around. They publish books and everything. They already know about the Fit.

Membership at APA gets you pre-negotiated prices (as well as dealer invoice quotes), which generally meets or betters all but the best negotiators.

Hey Hollybee! I got my LX last night as well; out in Maple Ridge. I was the 3rd or 4th one off the lot and they are not supposed to be out until April. Guess that means we are not the first but we got pretty close I ended up paying just $23000 with financing and $500 down. The dealer warned me that he thinks they will be hard to get within a few months! Can we all say 'waiting list'?

Congrats to all the new Fit owners, I know the waiting has been difficult.

Would someone, please, measure the cargo area with the back seats down?
How big is the hatchback opening?
How wide is the cargo area at it's smallest point?
How tall is the cargo area?
How deep is the cargo area (with the hatch closed) with the seats all the way back?
What is the maximum depth (hatch closed) with the seat moved forawrd as far as possible and still be able to drive?

Thanks and enjoy.

So i went back into the dealer today to see if i could get floormats thrown in for my LX, it was actually a lot more difficult then i thought. Basically he said the profits on the Fit are only a few hundred dollars and theres really no leeway for them to do any sort of discounting or free add-ins. Basically i had to tell him that Honda hasnt phoned me yet to do my rating of him (which he told me many times means a HUGE differance to him whether he gets 5s or not) and that the fact that my car has no floormats kinda makes me upset. So he went and talked to his manager and said that he can only give them to me at cost $107 but he said that if i give him all 5s when Honda phones me that he'll pay for them himself and give me a free oil change and car cleaning. I guess they're rating REALLY is a big deal to them. Well i felt bad that he was going pay out of pocket and felt it was a bit of extortion but i said ok anyways...and now i'll be getting free mats! lol...i dont know whether to feel guilty or happy that i got them.!
