Angry Hit-and-Run for lulz.

This has got to be the worst start of a vacation week ever.

My car, along with many of my neighbor's cars that were parked on the street, was involved last night in a hit-and-run. You can read the full story and see photos of the damage on my blog.

Worst part is, it looks like they did it for fun.

Super glue the damned mirror and take the trip. If you make it to Astoria, call me and I'll buy you lunch. I'll PM the number.

Cheers

Dang, that just sucks. Makes ya wanna go out and beat on someone, don't it? Two words: DUCT TAPE. It'll get you there and and back, and you can get it fixed later. Heck, with a silver car it might not even show at 50 feet... er, ah... 15 meters.

While I was looking around your blog, I noticed the page about flipping the tail light bulbs around. I was just looking at mine this morning and hadn't even noticed that they're backwards. Thanks for pointing it out and the DIY on fixing it! +1! I think I might do that and paint the clear parts red. Well, all but where the light actually shines out, that is.

Man--that's terrible. I hope it doesn't take too long to fix it all.

Great blog, though. Thanks for that link.

Cheers.

Thanks all. Hearing kind words right now really does help.

Insurance moved my estimate appointment one day back, which is bad for my trip, but it's because the police has informed them they have a possible suspect. So the police needs to be present during the estimate to match up the damage. If they can be sure it was 'cause by the suspect, I, and the rest of my neighbors might not have to pay the deductible.

And my bodyshop is being very nice and has already ordered me a replacement mirror before I even have the estimate done, and hopefully will be there tomorrow morning. The idea being that he's replace the mirror right after my estimate appointment, so I can still make my vacation. Then we'll wait 'til I come back to fix the rest of the body damage.
