(buzzer goes off) I'm referring to the Civic LX sedan. The EX sedan usually goes for around US$19,800 to US$20,800 depending on dealer--add about US$800 more if you want the EX with the navigation unit.

Oh ok, that sounds better. The MSRP for the LX MT is 16,710 and for the AT is 17,510.

ex are pretty much selling for a few hundred above invoice.

honda dont really decide how the fits will sell, the public will decide how the fit will sell.

and fit sport still have great value (at msrp), even with lx civic selling close to invoice. 16kish for paddle shift 5spd, 200watt stero, alloy wheels, all these things the lx civic dont have...

numbers are a bit off.

ex sedan msrp is only 19610. otd price is pointless to bring up, everyone pays different sales tax and different state fees.

navi is 1500 more, not 800. navi civics are also considerably more sought after, making it less discounted then the regular civics.

Yes and no. Honda still has some price setting power, and it can use this to affect the demand for its products.

Yes, but the utility of those things pales when compared to a 140 HP engine and quieter ride of the Civic LX.
