Besides not having to pay as much for gas, the big plus to an economical car is bypassing the lineup of fuel hogs at the gas stations. Since I put about 100 mi/day on my Fit, I'm filling it up more than twice a week, and spending about as much time at the gas station as I did when I drove my Accord wagon.
