I had a little problem with the Sport A/T - it is too easy to go into Neutral (like when changing from S to D while stopped) and if you don't notice the display and try to start off the engine will rev right up to the limiter

there needs to be a bit of a "ledge" between D and N or maybe a bigger display!

Great Photo. TYVM!
But when you said you can still slide the seat all the way back. Thats really what relieved me.
Again, thanks!

I agree with a previous poster about the stereo power button being too easy to turn off. Otherwise I really am happy with the car!! So glad the rest of you mentioned pushing the back seats down...I'm about to move my computer and computer desk this weekend and worried it wouldn't work but it sounds like it will!

I guess my other gripe would be....and I wonder if anyone else feels this too...going uphill, even the slightest, seems like a struggle for the car. It just drags and takes a lot to rev it up. I never had a problem with the same hilly areas in the old Forester so it was a real shock to me. I have an automatic...should I just change the gear? (believe it or not, I've never done that in my life haha!)

I don't have anything to complain about. This is my first car that I've gotten by myself (I was my married and my husband and I had a Ford Focus, but I didn't really drive because he left me right after I learned to drive). So I'm just so proud of it, I never say anything about it. I just love the little bugger.

When I press the driver's door unlock button, I don't think the rear hatch should unlock (sport model).

The only wish I have would be for a centre armrest. But for an actual complaint I would have to say that the rear seat centre shoulder belt has a clip/fitting so that the male parts of the buckle stay up and out of sight but for some reason mine just won't stay in there. I put it back and it actually sticks for a couple days then it just falls out. However that this is pretty much the only thing I can come up with suggests that I am very happy with my Fit!

Isn't that indentation by your left knee by the door something to hold change in??

Hello everyone,

I have had my fit for approx. 4 months now and have approx 3k on it. I agree with many of the comments above. My specific dislikes are:

1. No coin box. (I use a mint tin and put it on the right side compartment, but it falls out during hard driving)

2. Sometimes i hit the clutch and brake at the same time, I think they are a bit close (but I have size 11 feet).

3. no overhead map lights.

Gas mileage not nearly as good as expected. No center arm rest/console. Cheap carpet material. No body side molding. No seat height adjustment. No dead peddle. No External temperature gauge. Too easy to steal antenna. Rear bumper collects dirt very quck (under hatch).

For a very small non tourqy engine it is surprisingly spry. I guess it has to do with the weight-to-power ratio or something like that.
Gas milage: 30 around town
33 mixed hwy and twn
40 open hwy
All this w/o a/c. The a/c kills the milage big time!
IF 1/2 tank is really real then I have gotten over 220mi by that time...

Am I missing somethign with everyone needing a coin holder? Do you still use them for tolls or what? I have no need for coins (all my tolls are paid via "ez pass" (transmitter that deducts from my tolla account automatically)

I'm kinda with trowpa on the coin holder, I don't really have a need for one but obviously lots of people do so it should probably be there. The one and only thing I don't like about my car is not having a dead pedal. I know that I am going to wear a hole in the carpet for trying to put my foot to the left of the clutch.

Ceiling seatbelt keeps falling down . . .

One day I got fed up with this thing coming loose every time I rolled down the window and a little breeze came in.

I stopped the car and looked over the ceiling dock very carefully and found that I hadn't been fastening it in right. I pressed it all the way into its clip. It hasn't come loose again - and that's been 2 weeks!

Biggest complaints:
Gas Tank size
Lack of a dead pedal
Lack of Right arm rest or console
The Obvious cycles of a/c (I feel like what menopausal women must...Im hot then cold, then hot then cold...) during the first ~10 mins of operation
How a slight rain = constant rear window wiping and dirty top on the bumper

Of course these are all minor and not a big deal...

Thumbs up Phit Phlyer

I am probably going to be crucified for this review.
I am driving the car in 100 degree plus weather. I have had the car for 6 weeks with 2600 miles on it. My driving has been all rush hour requiring frequent merging into fast traffic.
I will be looking at upgrades at the end of the warrranty period. I am also very curious to see how well the car accelerates when temps drop into the 90's or lower. Average mileage has ben 31.2 MPG
Bear in mind, I like the car, but like anything else there are compromises.

Pros:
Paddle shifters. Handling is outstanding!Cons:Move paddle shifters off wheel to column. More torque. Upgrade carpeting.Overall Review:Because it is an economy car there are compromises. Acceleration onto a highway or passing requires some thought. The auto transmission could end up being deadly slow. The paddle shifters cannot be used when there is any angle on the steering wheel. The carpeting is about 2 steps above roofing felt paper. With a little more HP and torque this car would be an absolute hoot. Mileage has been so-so, but I believe my urban highway driving is responsible for mileage of less than 33MPG. This car should be looked at by anyone who needs an inexpensive car.

Ok, my thoughts. Fit BOM owner for about 50 days with 2800 Miles.

Cons:
-Breaks tend to grab occasionally.
-Transmission is sometimes rough when first accelerating or slowing down.
-Paddle shifters automatically shift from 1-2 and sometimes I shift leaving me in 3rd with low acceleration. Then I have to downshift.
-More powerful engine.
-No armrest.
-No "good" coin holder.
-Could get better gas mileage. (26MPG)

wow, I agree with all of this.
I put my coins in a altoids mint tin, (same as greekfit?) in the glove box. in the small compartment left of the steering column, they slide back and forth and make clinking noises, which for some reason really bugs me.
I had the center rear belt come loose a couple times, till I sat in the back seat, looked at how it attaches, and pushed it in all the way, both ends.
I put a minimag flashlight, in the glove box to read maps.
paddle shifters work when the steering wheel is turned hard, but + is -, and - is +, or you have to look at the wheel and slap the backside after thinking what you want to do, + or -? and which hand to use, since its backwards/upside down.
I dont want a center armrest, but you can buy them on ebay, which mount in the center cup holder. crummy 26 mpg average, buddy with a civic Si is getting 30 plus mpg, and it has 200 hp!
I didnt know what a dead pedal was till I bought this car, hah! no place to put your left foot is what they are talking about, I always drove manuals. duh
I do wish the gastank was twice the size it is.
for some reason, it seems my drivers seat twists, and seems flimsey. da little lady is always moving it up, for her petite size.
when the drivers window shuts in the up position, the door panel moves up or bends upward, like its loose in its fittings.
the carpeting is 2 steps away from roofing paper (jetcal1 is right), and although I did buy floor mats, carpet ones, I bought a black towel from walmart and cut it in half to put on top of them, for now since the rest is all brand new. I tried vacuuming up the lint out of the rear carpet, and it starting fraying, so instead used a cat hair rolling sticky paper, which worked better. I need to find some better carpet or some rubber like material for the back area (which is what I have on the floor of my tundra rear seat area).
(whats a toll? or do you mean Troll? all highways in ca are ezpass arnt they?)
rear bumper gets dirty quickly, and dust fills the rear wiper rubber.
I'm not worried about someone stealing my antenna, its the badges they take with no mercy!
since we seldom have rear seat passengers, I removed the back seat headrests and put them away in box in the garage, making folding the rear seats down much easier. I thought they might fit in the spare tire area, not.
knicked mirror, door ding, and scraped front spoiler, already. sheesh, I tell her, take it easy, its a NEW CAR!
there is room around the spare tire area for some bug and tar remover, and a can of glass cleaner.
