2007 Sport Making Rattling Noise and Trans. Howls!!
Driven numerous times from Midwest to the west coast. Took the Fit Sport on another west coast trip, permanently, and then up the Pacific Coast Highway, with lots of luggage.
Halfway through the trip, I got the malfunction light on with the D flashing. Went to the dealer in Santa Fe, NM and was told that if the lights came off, which they did, it was a gas cap problem.
Now 2 weeks later, when I drive it, it makes a sound like a keys are shaking. And when I put it in reverse, it howls! Woooooooo!
What the f*ck is up with this car?
Could it be that my transmission fluid is dirty?
I am scared the dealer is gonna say, "we need to replace the transmission!"
The rattling noise stops when I hit the break but then comes back most of the time.
Help please!!

I'm not sure what would be wrong with it. Is the car under warranty still? I'd try taking it to a mechanic shop before taking it to the Honda dealer. If you're new to the SF area try the regional section to get an idea of where the respectable maintenance shops are from fellow fitfreakers.

It could just be the brakes. I've had similar sounds on backing up with worn brake calipers. The noises usually stop when the brakes are applied since the whole set-up tightens up. Have a free check of your calipers and pads at your local Midas dealer or equivalent shop.
