Thumbs up How would you like to get a FREE Thule Cartop Rack??

Hello Fellow Fit Freaks

I just ordered my 2007 Fit Sport and will be getting it soon. When it arrives I want to put a bike rack on top of it. I found out you can buy parts in the UK for the Jazz but I talked to Thule today and I was told that if anyone would take thier Fit to the Thule Headquarters near Hartford Ct and let them fit the car they will receive a FREE rack for thier trouble. The tech contact is Eric Butt at 800-238-2388. The sooner somebody takes advantage of this opportunity the SOONER we can get our Fits outfitted with car top carriers.

Go people, GO! If there is a CT regional forum, you should post this info there as well

I left a message for Mr. Butt, today. I would gladly take a day to drive out there and let them play with my Fit - I'm going crazy not being able to get my kayak out.

Way to go! Many of us are chomping at the bit to get a car top rack on our Fits.

Did anyone take advantage of this? I live in CT and could easily get to Thule... I'll call tomorrow to see...

Thumbs down

Mind you that nothing is free.... and even if they fit one car it will be a long time before it is mass produced for the public. Why wait on them when the solution has already been given. If you think it is going to be cheaper here in the US, I got news for you.. it will not be any cheaper than if you buy it from the UK. Stop making excuses about bikes and boats and get off you asses and get the sh** done! It is a shame that you Fits are not participating in the outdoors. By the time you wait on racks from Thule USA, spend time driving other vehicles that use way more gas and continue to try and figure this out you could have the sh** on your car and be at the river, ocean, lake or single track. As far as I am concerned there is no reason for your Fit not to have a rack!

Uh, I think you need to drink less coffee.

Seriously, you think I'm sitting here at home saying, "Dang if Thule would just make a rack for my car, then I could finally get out of this house and go ride my bike, but since they haven't I'll just sit here and wait...."

I'm sure I could make a rack and I'm sure I could make some mistakes and scratch up my brand new car, but I don't want to do that. In fact, I'll probably not even put a rack on this car for a while. My other vehicle is better equipped to handle such things.

UH! Cheese with your whine?

This was not a personal attack, however you seemed to think so. This was intended for all, if I was talking to you directly, I would have put it in quotes. Like right now! I am talking to you directly...... Whatever your EXCUSES are, I was not the one inquiring about a so called FREE rack. And if you are not going to put a rack on this car then why are you wondering about this and then making assumptions about what I think? You know what they say about assuming! I was just trying to get people motivated to do the damn thing, not get a bunch of lip! And by the way, as much time as you put into not trying to get scratches, I guarantee that someone else will do it for you in a parking lot. Just try reading some of the other threads...
